So for two weeks I have been off my bc if that helps this any. Anyways for the last 12-14 hours I have had severe pain in my lower abdomin. This pain feels almost like pms cramps but far far worse. It is in that area.It is constant. Nothing I do helps it at all. IB profin just makes it laugh. Has anyone had this? Do you know what it could be? I already called my doc but wanted a clue before I went in.

Anymore info needed just let me know.. I really want to know what this could be or if its just because I got off bc.

ETA It is low and central. just right between my hips and above my pelvic bone. It goes from one hip to the other but the left is more prominate.

What can I do next?

This is impossible for us to diagnose - there are a lot of organs in the abdomen - uterus, ovaries, colon, small intestine - don't wait any longer. It's obviously not a temporary thing relieved by ibuprofen so call right now and be seen by your primary or your OB/GYN. It's Friday and I don't think you should go through another weekend. Don't fool around with this. Your body is telling you something.

Really, in a situation like this you need to call your OB/Gyn office.
We have a friend who just had an ovarian cyst burst--and then it WILL be serious. Call the doc.

Sounds like ovarian cysts to me but I'm NOT a doc, you need to call your OB/GYN.

"Severe" pain for over 12 hours and you are waiting for a doctor appointment? Please get to an ER now! This could be appendicitis, which can be extremely dangerous if left untreated (do NOT go by people saying appendicitis only has certain symptoms -- it can behave different ways in different people as we know from experience with our daughter).

Yes, it could also be a cyst or gas or constipation -- but it's impossible to tell; the abdominal area contains so much complex wiring! It could even be an intestinal issue too (twisted bowels can be fatal). We are not doctors! Do not wait, go to an ER -- for your kids' sake if not your own. They need you so don't risk your health by posting here when you should be getting care! Please update us!

It sounds like a cyst... potentially harmful, but only in rare occasions. We all have a cyst around our ovaries during ovulation time to protect the egg. Some peoples just don't go away on their own and some it just takes a little more time. To be safe, you should see your doctor.

I second that it could be ovarian cysts. I get them when I ovulate and they can be extremely painful.

You should try to get it checked a.s.a.p. if that is what it is you don’t want it bursting.

You could have an ovarian cyst. You need an ultrasound to determine what kind of cyst it is.

Ovarian cysts are very painful. Don't go this alone - you need to be checked.

If it isn't your ovary, it could be appendicitis. Don't monkey around here - abdominal pain is a serious thing.

Good luck,
Dawn

You were right to call your doctor to let him/her diagnose the problem, but here are my two cents and I apologize in advance if this is TMI:
I know my limits when it comes to irregularity. I love all things dairy, but too much of it and I get a sharp pain in my lower abdomen, it can be on either side. If I eat too much dairy and do not have a good bowel movement, I know this sharp pain will come on soon. The way I manage it and relieve it is to eat plenty of food with fiber, lots of water and keep the dairy foods to a minimum. My go to items are apples, orange juice and lots of fresh salads or raw veggies. Exercise helps too. That usually does the trick for me. It can take a good day or so for me to get regular again, so having pain for 12-14 hours like you describe is not uncommon for me. Certain drugs can cause this too. For example, when I had my kids I tried to wean myself off the hydrocodone ( I had c-sections) as quickly as possible. I was only on it for a couple days when my daughter was born, but it was enough to mess me up terribly. I think it took a month or more munching on whole foods with fiber, laxatives and the like to get me out of that mess. It was awful! I hope you feel better soon!
HTH,
A.

Ovulation pain, Ovarian cyst, Ectopic pregnancy, Kidney stones, Kidney or bladder infection, inflamed intestines, IBS, constipation, or even just gas.

Your appendix is more to the right side but pain can radiate. As is your liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. Those are all under your ribcage on the right side though. Pain CAN radiate from other places. Hell arm pain is a sign of gallbladder. Wouldn't think that but it is! A organ that is by your liver can radiate from your right side all the way to your left, up into your shoulder and into your arm. So just because you perceive it as low and central doesn't mean it is actually your problem.

I can think of more even. I would definitely get into my doctor if it's more than a 5 on the pain scale if not I'd give it a few days to see if it clears up or not.

Could be appendicitis, a cyst, gall stones, endometriosis. Lower abdominal pain generally requires an ultrasound followed by more tests. I have endrometriosis and have had 3 surgeries. I've had many cysts, no procedures-just let them take care of themselves and gall bladder disease (had it removed). Going to the ER might be a good idea if you are having severe pain and nothing is helping.

Lower left or lower right part of the abdomen?

There really are too many possibilities to monkey around with severe abdominal pain.... like Dawn said, and ovarian cyst is a possibility.

If it were further out from going off bc, it could also be an ectopic pregnancy, and that can be a SERIOUS medical emergency.... it could still be that... bc does fail....

You really need to get it checked out.
