Living on Credit Cards

Financially we are quite a mess, and at odds as to what to do! So please, any advice would be helpful. Our credit score is excellent, we manage to pay things on time, because we keep borrowing from our credit cards. We are over 115,000 in debt, and that does NOT include the large mortgage. We are an average family, we don't make a lot of $, we bought a home too expensive, and had debt going into it, but now it's way worse. We are not upside down, just have more going out then whats coming in. We'd like to keep good credit, because...

Rude for NOT Texting?

Am I rude for not texting? I have no texting plan on my phone. I actually have the most basic phone I could get, the free one that came with my plan. My husband and I have no desire to text, and my children are 5 and 7, so we have no need to text for their sake. Everyone at my husband's work is cool with him not texting. Here is the problem. Other moms and my new friends keep ASSUMING I text. I was signed up to help with my son's Xmas party and kept asking the other moms why I hadn't heard from the party cooderdinator. I had tried...

What Would You Pay for Childcare?

Hello, I was hoping to watch a few kids this summer (about my sons age) 5 or up..... My house with a pool/would take them to fun events, summer activities, watch them for an 8 hour day. What is a fair charge for this? (I will only be watching two children, so legally it would be considered babysitting-not childcare) Thx!

How Did You Get Your Credit Card's Interest Rate Lowered??

Hi all! I have a credit card which I no longer use but am still in the process of paying off. I am currently making double payments each month but my interest rate is 20.9%... AHH!! I called the credit card company and asked if it would be possible to have my APR lowered... I was praised for my account being in great shape and being proactive but was denied my request, being told that due to the economy there is nothing they can do for me at this time. So, I asked what I could do in order to be eligible for a lowered interest rate... the...

How Much to Spend on Gifts?

Hi, Moms. Just wondering how much each of you spend on birthday gifts for preschoolers and elementary aged children. I have a 3 year old and he is starting to receive birthday invites from friends at school and in the neighborhood. Just don't want to break the bank, but don't want to be stingy either. Any advise would be great. Thanks.

Cable, Phone, Internet

I have been going through Roadrunner/Time Warner for the cable, phone, & internet so that I have all the services on one bill. I'm having some issues with their specials & confusion with the bills & all. I need some advice on a cheaper way to have phone service & all the above with cheaper bills & better deals. I'm considering a cell phone but I've never had one & I don't know the best way to go there either. How do I get a phone, internet, & cable for a decent price & hopefully with the least amount of hassell & confusion.

Daughter Being Bullied by Bigger Boy in Private School

Hi everyone...My daughter attends a Christian private school and this boy is a year older than all the other kids in the class (he is a very big boy also). He was in her class last year also and would disrupt the class almost every day getting in trouble. This year he seems to be getting more aggressive and has threatened my daughter by telling her that he's going to get his family to shoot me and her. He has also pushed her down twice and poked her in the stomach. I told her teacher last year and I told the teacher this year that...

Need Good Honest Car Repair Shop

Hi all - I was rear-ended on Cooper Street yesterday by a 20 y.o. girl. Thank goodness I was in the SUV as she hit me pretty hard. It looked like she might have totaled her small car. Anyway, she called later and said she did not want to go through her insurance company just yet but wanted me to get an estimate. I do understand what she is doing since she was afraid of her rates going up. Guess I have 2 questions...has anyone used any local (S.Arl./Mansfield) car body shops for any type of repairs which you were very pleased with? ...
