Indoor Playgrounds in Wayne

Hi, Moms.

I recently reconnected with an old friend from high school only to learn that we both live in NJ and between the 2 of us we have 3 almost 2 year old boys (she has twins). Of course we want to schedule a play date right away.

She lives in Montclair and I live in Westwood. We are looking for an indoor playground with unstructured play time somewhere mid-way between us. In the Wayne area, but any other mid-way suggestions would also be appreciated.

Thank you,
R.

Funtime Junction in Fairfield is fabulous. I have a 2 1/2 yo, and she LOVES going there. There are push toys, toy cars, a toddler rollercoaster, and bouncy castle, and big indoor gym with tunnels and slides, an airplane ride, and playhouse, a play RV, arcade games, and more, including a decent restaurant. I think kids under 2 are only $5. Their website is www.funtimejunction.com

Oh, and as a follow-up to Parisa's response, the park in Paramus is called Van Saun Park. The other zoo is in South Orange, and is called Turtle Back Zoo - this is a really good zoo that your kids will love too. Lots of animals, a petting zoo, carousel, free train, etc. Very manageable for young kids. Most indoor places are geared towards older kids, but your 2 year olds will love Funtime Junction.

There is a place in Wayne/ Fairfield area called Funtime Junction. Though this time of the year, I would head to the park instead. I think Vansun Park (spelling?)in Paramus would be a good place since they have the zoo. The park area was under constructions a few months ago, so check before you go there. There is also a zoo in Montclair area (I think). tow spots in paramus called Kidz U, and Children Museum could also be a good spot. There is also an indoor place in Northvale called Kids Kingdom. I do have to warn you, the indoor places are not always the best for that age group. I did take my son when he was younger, but he gets so much more play time when we go at 3.5. I say save your money, and enjoy the outdoors instead. Good luck.

Hi R.
I don't know of any indoor playgrounds in Wayne but there is a Gymboree in Wayne where you could sign up to take classes together. The Van Saun zoo mentioned by someone else is also a great place to go but that may be a little far from Montclair.
I live in Westwood as well and have a 15 month old son. Do you like living here?
I hope you find a place to go.
L.

Hi R.,

That's tough, I"m from Wayne and there is nothing in Wayne. We go to either Fairfield to Funtime Junction or Montville to Kidnetics. There is also a place in Paramus called The NJ Children's Musuem. If you google them I'm sure there are websites so you can learn more.
