Hey you guys, I noticed a ringworm on myself a week ago, and I got some anti-fungal cream and I would put that on with a band aid on top of it, and all of the sudden I have 5 ringworms, all over my body! I'm going insane! I've tried clear nail polish, anti fungal cream, band aids, no bandaids, I cannot get rid of it. Luckily no one else in my house has it, and I need to get rid of it before they do!!!! HELP

What can I do next?

There actually is a type of ringworm that has to be treated with an oral antifungal med. My son had one when he was a baby and it was horrible to get rid of. He was on med for 6 weeks twice!

I would say go see your doc before you are just one solid ringworm.

I haven't read any of the other responses but when my daughter was very young (3 mos.) she had what looked like a perfect ringworm on the bend of her arm. I showed the ringworm to the pharmacist and asked if I could use the regular anti-fungal cream for her and he said it wouldn't be a problem but by the end of the week it had spread. Not only was the one on her arm bigger but it was on her face and legs. I took her back to the pharmacist and he said try the other anti-fungal...apparantly there are two! I tried it for two more days but it was taking over her entire face. I took her to the doctor and it wasn't a ringworm at all. It was Eczema. He gave me a steriod cream and it was all gone by 9 p.m. that evening, which was no small feat if you'd seen her face!
If it's still not gone and it's spreading it's probably not ringworm, those over-the-counter anti-fungals work pretty well for them. I know it sounds like a hassle but I'd just go to the doctor...just in case!

Hey S.,

The best thing for ring worm is antifungal cream and bandaids. You HAVE to keep them covered at all times. It is a long process to get rid of them, but have faith they will go away. When my daughter was about three, she got one from daycare. We passed ring worms back and forth for about a year. But once I figured out that you have to keep them covered at all times, we got rid of them.

Good Luck!
