Does anyone know any cheap fun halloween activities around overland park or olathe to take my children to do the weekend before or on halloween?I already know about the deanna rose farmstead. But they don't have a rain date and it would be $24 at the door if I wait until the night of the events.I was hoping to find something cheaper:)

What can I do next?

Hi C.,

There is a nursing home in Olathe that would love to have some Halloween visitors! I spoke w/ the activities director today- she said that every year she has some sort of children's group call to come visit & they hand out candy & such, but no one called this year! She would love to pull something together if she knows there will be some guest!
Email me back if you are interested & I can give you more info! Anyone for that matter! I told the lady that I would post something on here & see what I could do! There are so many of the elderly that just don't get that many visits, so they are always so happy to greet someone- even complete strangers! Plus, it would be cheap! : )

The Enchanted Forest that was recommended is not scary. My daughter enjoyed that when she was young. The "Night of the Living Farm" at Deanna Rose is really great and worth the money in my opinion. We go to that every year and really look forward to it! The cost of admission includes a hayride (which is a little scary for the littler ones since they have characters that jump out of the dark) or a non-scary tractor ride for the wee ones.

Hi C.,

Here is the link to the Enchanted Forest, I have never been there but seems a little scary for little ones...

I would suggest a Pumpkin Patch, some are free and you only pay for the activities so you can choose how much to spend.

Hope you have a great time!

It's not in OP or Olathe but the Zoo has a really fun "Boo at the Zoo" event. You can check it out on their website.

I'm not sure how far this is from you but So Ko Par Park in Lenexa is having their Enchanted Forest for the family on Oct. 25th and 26th. I think the cost of admission is just $1.00 per person. My kids got info on it from school so I will look for the paper and post any additional information I find.
