I don't want to know what it is SO DON'T SHARE IT HERE!!!

I was just wondering if anyone can recall their license plate if they need to.

I can't. I should learn it though, for my own good.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Dang ya'll! So many people know their plates! I think that's great - safer I'm sure.

I wish I could get plates that say "this is your car A. G" so I can find it easily in the parking lot. Ho hum.

I do know the numbers for all 3 plates.

There is something about trivial info like that which sticks in my brain. I have phone numbers and addresses in my head as well, what I wore, when and on what date... Crazy stuff I don't try to remember and it drives my hubby nuts.

My hubby says he wishes I could use my memory skills to do something more productive, like predict the stock market, even buy a lotto ticket someday!! etc..... LOL

No idea. I was hoping you meant my drivers license number, in which case I DO!
But my car...nope. Any time I am asked for it I have to run out and copy it down.

Yes. I remember the one we have now and the one we had 15 years ago. I have a really good memory for things, especially numbers. I know ss# for all of us (7) and my and my husband's drivers license number.

But don't expect me to remember the name of a person that I get introduced to. I forget that within 10 minutes.

No idea, I am sooo bad at numbers I try to come up with little ways to remember them but then i just get the general idea that oh yeah it had something to do with grandma's bday either the day or year or the last 2 digits of the year. no clue

lol a little kid yesterday asked me how old i was and froze then too, i know the year i was born but even subtracting back is hard for me if it isn't 10 year multiple.

I always feel sooo soooo sooo stupid, so it's patheticially nice to hear that maybe others don't always have their numbers memorized either.

Yes. The one of my SUV we have had since 2008. New car now, but the tags transferred. And it's easy :).

The new one we got with our other new car took me some time, but I have that one as well.

Numbers are my thing though.

The trick is to make up a sentence.

I can't come up with a good sentence for this car. All I can remember is that it has an 8 in it, but I can't even tell you where in the "sentence" that 8 is. We've just moved to 7-digit license plates, and that is throwing me off.

In the dark ages, before pay at the pump, you used to have to go IN to the gas station with your card. They would ask you your plate number and write it down on your (carbon copy) receipt.

I can always remember the letters, but the numbers fail me.

Yes. I know my license plate (it's personalized) and my drivers license # by heart. I also know my husband's plate number.

It wouldn't matter if I shared it here or not. It's a matter of public record and I drive every day and people see it. There is nothing anonymous about it.

Hope that helps!

Nope. And, I can barely find it in the parking lot because it looks like all the other silver toyota mini vans. I often resort to using my key fab(sp?) to make the tail lights light up so I can find it.

Time to memorize one more set of numbers eh?! At least I know my drivers license number.

Nope. DH can recite both car's plate numbers, our car insurance policy number, homeowner's insurance policy number, his driver's license number - I could go on but you get the picture. He tells me all that useless stuff stored in his brain is the reason why he forgets to take the garbage out. I'm starting to believe him.

Yes, I know mine. My husband recently got a new car and new plates, so I don't have his memorized yet. Some of the kids' plates I know. Oldest moved out of state last year, so I don't know his.

I still remember my grandfather's license plate number. He's been gone for 10 years and didn't drive the last year or so of his life, so I haven't seen the plate in that many years.

I also remember the license plate number of the car that backed into our car when I was about 10 years old, quite a few decades ago.

I remember friends' childhood phone numbers and addresses and can recall many of their current ones.

Yet, if you ask me where my cell phone, house or car keys are at any given moment, or a website password I made up last week, I probably won't know that information! The joys of aging! : )

I still remember the one for my first car. But I've had about 5 cars since then and for one reason or another had to get new plates most of those times. So no. I have no idea - not even a clue of my licence plate. I guess I should have some idea though shouldn't I?

PS - I just checked my registration and I will be memorizing it now. ;o)

I used to. But they just gave me a new one last year and I haven't learned the new one yet.

I haven't had much need to know it lately, and that usually helps you learn it. You know, if you travel much, hotels or rentals normally will ask for the plate number on your vehicle, so that you don't get towed. Well, we haven't traveled much since I got the new one.

I rarely even see the thing. I park in the garage and when I walk around the rear of the car to get in, I am up close to the car, so I don't see the plate. And honestly, I don't pay attention in parking lots (too busy watching other cars so I don't get baked over). Or maybe it is just age catching up with me. (sigh)

I used to know my plate, but when my husband and I got married, I never bothered to learn his. We are a military family now and with each militry move, our plates change, so I end up not knowing them. Same goes for my driver's license number.

This is something I should really work on though!

I still remember the license plate from our first mini-van.... we bought it new in '89..... I don't remember the number from Iowa, but I do remember the plate number when we moved to Texas....

However, I can't remember our most current cars......

Amazing what gets stuck in our brain sometimes!
