Difference in Sizes?

I have a size conversion chart from Florence Eiseman childrens' wear. 24 months is for kids 31-33 inches in height and 22-25 lbs. 2T is 33-35 1/2 inches in height and 25-28 lbs.

I think that 24 months is still in infant sizing and 2T is the start of toddler sizes. If you compare the two you'll usually find a very small difference in size. I hope that this helps.

Generally, 24mos assumes a full diaper and a baby tummy, while 2T assumes a slightly slimmer tummy and maybe a pull-up. So they can be the same length (or 2T may be slightly longer), but the big difference I have observed is in the waist. In general, 2T clothing has a smaller waist than 24 month clothing. This accommodates the fact that children about this age typically grow up and slim down at some point. So if you have a "chunky" child (like my son was at that age) he may never wear 2T, while if you have a slim child (like my daughter), he may go straight to 2T and skip 24 mos.

Now, if you were talking girls' clothing, there would also be a change in styles (for example, 24 mos dresses typically still show the bloomers while 2T dresses are a bit longer). But boys' styles really don't change that much.

Sometimes the 24mo clothes are roomier in the bottom to accomodate a diaper, where the 2Ts are slimmer.

2Ts are a little slimmer it seems to accomodate for the much more active toddler. The 24months have a little more room for diapers and baby 'rolls'. Some brands have no difference while others make the 2Ts a lot longer as well. It really just depends.....sorry that's isn't much help.

There really isn't much difference. The 2T is a tiny bit longer but I dressed my girls in 2T things when they were that old.

Hi, I had the thought that it was that the 24 month size included a zipper or snaps on the inseam of the pants, to make changing a diaper easier. I don't know if that's true, or not, but the clothing I had as an example at the time confirmed that thought. Hope this helps.
