Hello ladies,
I'm looking for recommendations for a 1 day a week program that I could take my 2 year old daughter to, starting in the fall. We need something that is not daycare, but preschool.
Do you have have any recommendations for me? Thanks!

What can I do next?

St. Anthony's MDO has a great program, and they are very kid-friendly. My 2 year old has developed a lot of vocabulary and potty training skills by going to the program 3 days a week. We just love watching her grow as she learns more and more each day.

My children were both in MBC Explorers at Memorial Baptist. When I taught there...I PULLED THEM OUT! All of the classes/teachers were not enthusiastic or interesting. There was two teachers in different classes that did terrible things to the kids. I highly recommend staying AWAY from that school until the 4 yr old class! Those teachers are fabulous. My son is now in the three yr old class at Day School for Little People. It's at Cedar Bayou Methodist. My son and I both LOVE the class, director and teachers (and subs). I can't say enough good things about that school. Good Luck.

Crestview Baptist's Mother's morning out program is great. It is a two day a week program, but we only do one day a week. It is located off of 2222 and Woodward and goes from 9:30-2.

Where are you exactly. If in Baytown, The very best place I know of is Wee School on Rollingbrook I believe. They are a Child oriented Day School that is great with kids and they are the best around. My nephew and my little one both went there as well as one of my grandsons. You couldn't ask for more caring people. This school took my little fearful shy child and gave her the ability to open up and become playful and friendly with others.
Just call them and ask to come look around and check them out.
Good Luck Jill

There is a small 2 day/wk coop that we liked. It is on Oltorf, just East of I-35, at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Its NOT affiliated with the church, merely using their space (great playscape). Very well priced. Community forming as well, in that every parent has a turn asissting the teacher once a month in classroom. Its called South Austin Childrens Coop.

I maybe a little late for response but the ymca has great programs for kids of all ages and it teaches them how to live well.
My daughter went to yoga there, she took swimming lessons and now that she is older she is looking forward to summer camp and girls softball...
The ymca also provides plenty of great recommendations for other activities and preschools in your aria.
Another favorite of mine here in Austin is gymboree, which is perfect for toddlers. I'm not sure if there is one in your aria but the ymca in Kingwood and here in Austin is wonderful and Gymboree provides great activities for little growing minds and bodies...

Hi there, both of my girls go to Windwood Adventure Preschool (MDO) on Spring Cypress. My youngest just turned 2 in October and she is currently going only one day a week. They love it and I have been very pleased with the staff, activities, curriculum, etc.

Resurrection Lutheran Early Learning Center has a great 2 year old preschool program that is only Monday or Tuesday each week from 9am to 1pm. It is such an awesome program. And the teacher's will just knock you off your feet as to how much they care for the kids. The program grows as your child grows. Their 3 year old teachers are the best and thier 4 year old program will get you child more than ready for kindergarten. You will be amazed at what this program offers. And wait till you see the price. You can't beat it anywhere. Hope you will check them out. In Spring. A.

Check area churches for mother's day out programs. If Cedar Park isn't further than you're willing to drive, you might check out the program at Cedar Park First United Methodist. It's a two day a week program. We were happy with it when my daughter went a few years ago.

Where are you at? If you are in NW Austin, I highly recommend Bethany School on Anderson Mill. They run a preschool at Bethany Church. The 2-year old program is anywhere from 1 to 5 days a week, whatever you want. My son is in that class 2 days this year. The teachers are absolutely wonderful.

Hi

In the south Austin area? If so, Manchaca United Methodist Child Development Center does have at two or three day program. Tuesday, Thursday is the 2 day program. It is an excellent program. Their fall registration opens Feb 18th. As with any program, I would recommend you check it out and even ask for recommendations from other parents. Two of my children have been through this program and I love it.

The DP United Methodist Church on 13th has a weekday school and offers Mother's Day Out. My twin boys (1 in March) will be starting in the fall, going just one day a week. I know they have a class for 2 year olds and you can pick either Mon/Fri, Tue/Thurs, or just Wed. The phone number is ###-###-####. Kay Coburn is the director. Hope this helps!

Montessori schools offer superb preschool programs. Most schools offer a variety of programs including 2, 3 or 5 days a week as well as half days. My son absolutely loves his class and learns so much in only 3 hours. Here is one school that I found in Round Rock.
