I have a 14 month old. Does anyone have a suggestion for a Preschool/Mother's Day Out program that gives the option of one day a week instead of two? I need something in Fort Worth.

What can I do next?

Hello!

I know this is not in your area but if you ever are in the Cedar Hill area or if you know someone looking for hourly, drop in,or extended hours you can check out www.Saturdayeverdayplaycenter.com. The number there is ###-###-####.

It really depends on what part of Ft. Worth you are talking about. You might want to look into the state website:

http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/child_care/search_texas_child...

This will list child care providers that are licensed by the state and you can look at their inspection record for violations.

FYI: many MDO/PDO centers are not licensed by the state, they do not have to be when they only operate on a limited number of days/hours. That doesn't mean they aren't a good program though.

North Fort Worth Baptist Church comes highly recommended, Bethesda has a program with shorter hours than is listed on their website and Glenview Baptist Church is also one that I hear lots of good things about.

Something else you might want to keep in mind is opting for a 2 day vs. one day program. It can be difficult for little ones to really get used to their teachers and "friends" when they only see them once a week.

Hope this helps! I have worked in a preschool for several years and am just looking into Fort Worth MDO programs as I am changing my current occupation. We have chosen North Fort Worth.

North Fort Worth Baptist has a one day a week option.
Also the Discovery School in North Richland Hills has a one day a week option.

Hope that helps,

My kids are teenagers now so my information may be outdated but when they were that age, both Genesis United Methodist Church (south Hulen near Sycamore School Road) and University Christian Church (near TCU) had a 'ones' class one day a week, 3 hrs. Good Luck!

I highly reccomend University Christian Church, they do offer 1 day a week 9-12 and they have the option of dropping off early (early birds) or staying a few hours later (discover time) for an extra fee. Just one day for the month is $60 plus a yearly registration fee and supply fee.

Where do you go to church?

Have you tried your church? Our church offers one day a week PDO. That's what we did last year was one day a week. However, our church requires you to be a member to utilize our parents day out program. I'm not sure if that is all churches are like that or not. I've only used our church for Parents Day out.

We go to First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth (downtwon Fort Worth).

I hear a lot about UCC, I guess that Universtity Christian Church. You might try there. Sorry, I can't be of more help.
