I'm looking for activity classes (swimming, etc) on the Main Line for my baby. I want him to have opportunities to interact with other babies.
The Upper Mainline Y has great baby swim classes. It gives the babies time to interact with each other while at the same time getting some exercise. And the mothers really like to have someone to talk to also.

Unfortunately I do not have an answer for you...but I have a 6 month old little girl and would love to participate in some classes too...the Main Line works for me. Please let me know if you find anything out. I work full time but can do weekend classes!

The YMCA in Ardmore has Parent/Child swimming classes which is a lot of fun and the libraries have story story telling hour.
I would recommend the Chester County library classes for babies to you as a place to start.
They are a lot of fun and a nice place to meet other moms.
Makin Music has many locations on the main line. We attend the Radnor site. They are great and have been going for about 3 years now. http://www.makinmusic.com/
Many synagogues and churches have mommy and me classes you should check out. Little Gym is good and King of Prussia Gymboree is good too. If I can help any more please feel free to email me directly.
My daughters went to Gymboree in Wynnewood and in King of Prussia. The Wynnewood space is small and thus a little more "intimate". Met some nice people there. It can be a bit pricey, but the kids enjoyed it. Penny is a great leader. The classes start at before six months, I believe and go to 5 years.

Try the Main Line YMCA (www.umly.org) for swimming classes. There's also Little Gym (tumbling, etc for babies in both Newtown Square and Narberth) and Sally's Music Class (www.sallysmusic.com).

check out your local ymca. i just did a intro swim class with my 18 month old son. we sang songs in the pool and did alot of moving around, to introduce them the water.

You need to get the free mom papers that are in the markets where the circulars are, doctor's offices ect. They list all the free mom groups, classes, etc. Or, try on-line at Metro kids, Curious Parents and Parenting Express. There are lots of mom groups for nursing moms, business moms, exercise groups, music classes all great for that age.
