How to Scald Breastmilk?

Hi mamas! I have started to notice that my breastmilk sometimes smells sour out of the freezer. I read in my Medela info that it may be due to an increase/decrease in the enzyme Lipase. The Medela info suggests scalding my milk before freezing it...but doesn't say how to do that! I'm sure I can find info on the internet, but I'm not too good at searching so I thought I'd start here! Does anyone know how to do this? I'm assuming it has something to do with getting my milk super hot, but all the other info says never boil breastmilk! Also,...

Returning to Full Time Work - Still Breastfeeding

Hey Mamas, I'm the proud mother to a sweet 7 month old little girl who is 80% breastfed. She sometimes has the odd bottle of formula at night time when I'm home, and is given formula when I'm at work. Which has been 2-3 days a week (but mostly nights). I've just received a promotion which means I'm going to full time work, which is spread between day shifts and night shifts. As much as I didn't want to stop breastfeeding just yet, it's impractical for me to be pumping at work. I did it for months a little while ago and it is such a...

Looking for a Medela Pump in Style & a My Breast Friend Pillow--anyone???

I'm expecting in late October, & plan to breastfeed. I BF for 7 months with my daughter, & rented a pump from the hospital the whole time. For the money we ended up paying, I could've had a really nice pump of my own. So now I'm looking for a nice double electric pump, since I'll be pumping at work, and can't afford to buy one brand-new. I've tried EBay, but just get frustrated with all the bidding. If anyone has a nice pump at home they don't use anymore, I'd love to buy it off you. I think breastfeeding's incredibly important--I'm...

Medela Regular Nipples

Help! We have all of our Medela bottles ready to go for our daughter, but I threw out the nipples because I wanted to buy new ones. Well now all I can find are WIDE base nipples which don't fit the regular old Medela bottles. Has anyone else run into this problem? And how did you solve it? I don't want to buy all new bottles when ours are fine.

Medela Bottles Your Experience.

Hi Ladies! I am buying a Medela breast pump and want to buy the bottles to match. The Medela bottles are pretty much the most expensive ones I will ever buy, but they seem kinda flimsy. Do you have experience with them? The plastic seems pretty thin. I wonder how they hold up in the dishwasher and over time. Any experience is greatly appreciated.

Battery Operated Breast Pump

I currently use the Medela pump in style electric breast pump.. and love it! I use it at work, in the car...where ever there is an outlet. However, I am going to DC for the day this saturday and will be taking the Metro (no A/C or outlet!) Does anyone have a GOOD recommendation for a battery operated breast pump. I'm hoping for a double pump.. but will settle for anything that will do the job without an outlet or any cords. I understand I can just get a battery pack for my medela double electric pump... but is there any battery operated...

I Want to Wean My Baby, How Do I Do It?

I have been breast feeding my 10 month old daughter exclusively. I am ready to wean her off the breast. But she will not take a bottle. I've been giving her water in the sippy cup, and she drinks it just fine. I have been trying to get her to drink diluted formula in the sippy cup, but she gags on it. Does anyone have any advice on how to get her to drink the formula? Is it maybe the brand? I have been using Enfamil and I know it is kinda gross.
