What's a Good Career for an Educated, Experienced Mom Whose Priority Is Family?

Hello Ladies, I'm a SAHM of two great little guys, ages 2 1/2 and 4 1/2. In the next couple of years, I would like to go back to work. The thing is since I now have two kids, they are my priority. My question is, what do you do for work? Is it flexible for a family life and still fulfilling? Do you like it and why? I did inside sales and inside sales management for ten years but I don't want to go back to that. I need ideas...I love working with people, am very outgoing, a little competitive (in a good way) and I like to help...

Need Help Finding a Good Crib

Hello. I'm trying to find a good quality convertible (either 3-in-1 or 4-in-1) crib that cost less than $300.00. Any ideas? My husband likes the Simplicity Ellis at Target for $249 but I'm not too sure about Simplicity since they had so many recalls this year.

Excell Mortgage Broker or Lender Needed for Condo Invest from ARM to Fixed Rate

Can anyone recommend a great mortgage broker or lender who may have some good packages in these rough times of lending. I have a condo investment that I bought 5 years ago and I THOUGHT I signed a 30 year fixed rate mortgage only to find out I had signed a 5 year ARM and the ARM is now up to increase by 1% from 6.625 to 7.25 and then every6 months, increasing 1% at a time, I need to lock into a 30 year fixed rate or default or just sell the condo at the low prices of today. I feel I was misled by the mortgage broker and the settlement...

Keeping up with the Jones's

Does anyone else experience the pressure from other women who live out of their means just to keep up with the friends and neighbors around them,....? I've got an average life, average house, average vehicle, Etc. I'm paying my bills on time, and have very little cc debt. There are people in my life who comment if I have on shoes from target. A friend of mine of 8 years walks into a room with a new louis vitton or coach handbag every month, and flaunts it even though I know she doesn't have the money to buy those things. She pays her cell...

Do I Expect Too Much from My Kiddo?

My daughter is 5. It's just me and her (she sees her dad for 8hrs on sunday). She has a list of chores that she needs to do. Empty my lunchbox and hers, feed cat at night, clean off kitchen table (her plate and stuff and any condiments), swiffer sweep one room, take out recycle garbage, help w/ her laundry (go down to help put in washer, go down to help move to dryer, go back down to help get it out, fold and put away socks and undies). She earns a dime for each of these and has to save 10% every week. When she whines about it I remind...

Opinion on Graco Cribs

Does anyone have an opinion on Graco cribs? I haven't been able to find a store that displays them and have only been able to find them online from Walmart. I like the simplicity of their cribs but would like to 'kick the tires' before I purchased one. Or are there places in the area that have inexpensive but good looking cribs that we can look at in person?

Do You Have a Joint Checking Account with Your Husband?

I have been married for five years, and for the last year plus have been staying home with my son. Before I was a teacher, and I made my own salary, although it was less than my husband's. For years, he would say we were going to set up a joint account, but since I had my own money, I didn't push him. It was just one of the many things he never got around to. Usually his excuse was that he was shopping for a new bank. Now I have no money of my own (other than the modest amounts in my retirement accounts) and I constantly have to ask...
