Need Second Opinion(s) =)

I am due with my 2nd in a couple of weeks and this baby decided not to cooperate at the ultrasound, so I have no idea if it is a boy or a girl. Being the planner that I am this is driving me NUTS!!! I have picked up some gender neutral stuff but am having issues when it comes to bedding. I found a really cure junlge animal set made by tiddliwinks Jungle collection bedding (http://www.target.com/Tiddliwinks-Jungle-Collection/dp/B000ITRZQK/qid=1193931180/ref=br_1_1/602-###-###-####-###-###-####?ie=UTF8&node=16291801&frombrowse=1&rh=&page=1...

What Do You Really NEED for a New Born?

We're trying to plan and be as prepared as necessary for our first born who is scheduled to arrive in Sept. We do not want to have lots of unnecessary "stuff". We are going to try for a family bed and see how it works, but should I have a back-up crib? Bassinet? Without being wasteful, what are the most important things to have as far as furniture and supplies for a new born? What would you recommend I buy new & what can I get second hand(craigslist has great baby/kid stuff)? Thanks for your time:)

Bumper Pads for Cribs

Ok, can someone clue me in here on what the advice is regarding bumper pads on cribs. A few years ago when I had my son, my pediatrician warned against using bumper pads or anything such as stuffed animals in the crib, so all that I did was keep my son in his crib with his breathable crocheted blanket. Now, I'm expecting another baby and have seen bumper pads on cribs in that are displayed at the baby stores and stuffed animals in the cribs. Thanks, M.

How Many of You Have Kept Your 2Yr Old + in Crib?

My DD slept with us until my son was born (she was 22 months) and then she slept in a toddler bed next to us. For some reason my son never slept well with us and always slept better in his crib, so we kept him in there! Now my DD sleeps in a full size bed and shared a room with her brother. My son sleeps so well in his crib that I wonder how long I can keep him in it? How long did you keep your kids in cribs and why? One other thing, I was wondering about this because although my son sleeps well in his crib he has a hard time falling...

Infant Sleep Positioner

So my little 2 week old DD is doing great we just need a little help figuring out the best night time sleeping situation. She doesn't like her crib (either flat or at a slight incline), she doesn't like the bassinet or the glider. She sleeps great during the day on the boppy pillow - but of course that is supervised. Since we can't use the boppy at night, I'm thinking there has to be some device that would help her sleep but is also secure. I've done some research and found the Nap Nanny, the Snuggle Nest, and the Close & Secure Sleeper. ...
