My daughter still loves to dress up in costumes, problem is all her dress up clothes are too small. She's very tall for her age so she is a size 8. It seems like all the dress up clothes in the store are geared to smaller kids, though she just turned 6. I'd love to buy her some for Christmas, just need to know where to shop!
Thrift stores. You can get old wedding and prom dresses -- business suits anything else you can think of. Look on the half priced racks for some really good deals.
My niece loved to play dress up, well into her teens.
She has Down Syndrome, so of course there was no selection when it came to dress up clothes for a somewhat chunky 14 year old :-)
But the thrift stores were amazing treasure troves, old prom dresses, dance/theater costumes, bridesmaid's gowns and high heels/costume jewelry galore, and cheap, cheap, cheap!
Most of the commercially produced stuff is not only small, bad REALLY cheaply made.

Go to a second hand shop get some gowns and things and cut down.
Etsy has lots of custom clothes of all prices. You can have them made for her. There are even outfits for day wear to disney land. Pintrest also has cute ideas and most of the images you can click on to bring you to the origonal link (if you didnt already know this).

Edit: Also, raid your own closet for older dresses, coats, shoes, costume jewelry, fake fur coats, heels. Put them in a "Treasure Chest-type of box for a cool Christmas gift.

I'd check a vintage/thrift store like Ragstock (I dunno if you have that in TX). Many of the bridesmaids' dresses from the 50s, 60s or 70s can serve as ballgowns.
Look at littledressupshop.com. Love their quality. They have some adult size dressup stuff. U may get lucky.
If you want actual costumes, Amazon is a great place. Or, if she just wants 'dress up clothes" and does really care what they look like, then resale shops are your best bet. I have also hit the big box stores on Halloween clearance.
Very good prices on pettiskirts, boas, bows, hats, etc. It is generic dress up items---no named costumes or anything but it is a good site. Sign up and they will alert you to sales and coupons.
