Hi moms,
I've recently found out that I'm pregnant with twins!!!! I currently drive a Saturn but have realized that it will not be appropriate for a toddler car seat and 2 infant seats. I'm thinking that I have to get a minivan (although this is not what I want, I've thought about SUV's but realize that's probably not going to work). Everyone I've ever asked loves there vans and says they are so glad that they have one and doesn't want to go back to a small car. So, what type of mini vans have you guys been happy with or not happy with. I'm thinking of getting one that is 2-3 yrs old. I'd prefer American made but am willing to look at other companies too if they are way better. Thanks for all your help:)

What can I do next?

Hello A.!

Congratulations! with 3 kids I'd definitely go with the honda oddessy. we love ours. I love that I can open and close doors w/ the push of a button... yes, I'm spoiled. it really comes handy when your hands are busy and when picking/dropping off kids at school. I love our honda! Good luck! ~Carmen~

A.,
No amount of advice helped me in our move to the minivan more than getting behind the wheel and getting a feel for it. I disliked the Honda Odyssey. I didn't like placement of buttons on the front console and I did not like the useless space between the two front seats. I ultimately bought a used Dodge Grand Caravan. It has what is called stow and go seats, so the seats fold into the floor of the car. This and the built in dvd player are the bells and whistles that swayed my decision. Good luck to you. Go drive some vans lady.

We have a Pontiac Montanana and love it. We recently test drove a Mazda 5 and that was really nice. The nice thing about that is that it is a crossover. If I remember correctly, it is built on a station wagon frame, but has the seating of a van. We had a change in financial situation, which is why we don't have it. Although, it was to replace our Saturn which is to small for our two growing kiddos. My recommendation would be to find some websites that can give you information. We actually found one that listed all car makers and all of their models. It included features of the cars, crash ratings and the price ranges. Unfortunately, I don't remember what it was. We found it very helpful in narrowing down the search a little. Good luck and congratulations on the twins.

We just bought our first minivan and after months of research we settled on a Honday Odessey and couldn't be happier. It is also our first non american made vehicle so it was a difficult choice for us. We found a lot of feedback on the www.edmunds.com website about different vehicles. We rented a brand new town and country for two weeks for a trip out west over the summer and found it did not ride as smooth or quiet as our Honday we purchased.

We also have an odessy and love it. We researched and drove other brands and felt the odessy was heads above the rest. We have driven other honda products and love the quality. They may be more expensive at purchase but they tend to need less maintainance and the resale value is higher.
