We normally have two days of Thanksgiving, one with my mom's side of the family and one with my dad's side of the family. I think this is the only holiday that my parents parents do have it together. We won't be traveling far thankfully. I have been asked to bring a side dish. What is your famous side dish at Thanksgiving? I really need some easy ideas.

For my In-Laws, I'm always asked to make the Sweet Potato Casserole. My family, my mom does everything and the kids bring appetizers. Other sides are, green bean casserole, stuffing/dressing, mashed potatoes, rolls. My SIL made a cornbread one year and I loved it.

Going to see ALL the parents...but not at the same time:(

Then it is home to get the kids in bed and I get to go have fun!

We did a half a turkey with all the trimmings for dinner here, last night. I just could not wait to eat some turkey.

I was so afraid I was going to be in pain and sick from the ulcer I have been nursing...But I realized a day or two ago, the pain was gone! So now I can fatten up on all my Favorites...STUFFING, GRAVY, MASH potatoes and Cranberry sauce....Not to mention all the turkey...and turkey left overs we will be eating for a week!!

I think this is the most excited I have ever been for Thanksgiving:)

I can not wait!

Last year my mom was in the hosp so I did my first Tgiving at my house. It turned out great (I did all the sides in crock pots!) so I decided to do it again this year. Our kids will be at our ex's on Tgiving day so I'm having Tgiving on the Saturday after when we have all the kids back. =)

There are certain dishes in our family that certain people make. My hubby always makes the stuffing from scratch, my mom makes the sweet potato casserole, my dad is in charge of the green bean casserole and bread, my oldest is in charge of the broccoli casserole, and my mac and cheese is always on the table.

We normally do it at my house. No animals (my parents have 5 dogs and 3 cats), more counter space to place dishes when they are done, more seating (our table seats 6 and plenty of couch space), and we have higher ceilings so it just makes it feel more spacey. Whoever doesn't want to come doesn't have to - but it's where my parents will be :).

We meet my parents halfway, stay in a nice hotel, have dinner at my uncles house, and my in-laws come visit (they live just 30 miles from the hotel). I love it because my parents will watch the kids the day after Thanksgiving so my husband and I can go have lunch or dinner together. That's something we never get to do, so it is something we really look forward to.

I'm hosting my very first Thanksgiving this year (now that we're in a house big enough for everybody)! I am so excited to have my family and my in-laws and other extended family--for a total of 15 people! Since I'm hosting, I've pawned off some of the dishes to my family members (and my MIL will be at my house to help with the things I have to make). When I was the guest, I always offered to bring the green bean casserole. It's my favorite dish and I always just wanted to make sure that it would be on the table!

We are going to my parents, it is a 30-40 minute drive.
My parents are saints, they are cooking everything. I asked my mom if we could bring a side or two, and she said, "No, no! You are so busy working FT and raising a toddler, you just come and enjoy!"
So that is what we are doing! :)
It is going to be a blast!!!!

Pistachio salad ~ 1 8 oz container of cool whip, 1 can of crushed pineapple, 1 box of Pistachio pudding, 1/2 bag small marshmallows, mix it all together and you have a great side dish that is quick and easy to make!

I'm known for my baked macaroni and cheese. Easy recipe: Preferred pasta shape, white sauce as a base, add any cheeses you love, feel free to add in ham or bacon, or veggies; I add nothing extra. Top with breadcrumbs and bake in preheated 350 degree oven. This year it'll just be my husband and two children at home so I'm going to have to figure out how to cook it just for us 4.
