I feel like I have one. Is there anything I can do to get a little relief so I can get some sleep tonight? I've been up for about 2 hrs now.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks ladies. I wasnt able to get any sleep :( 8 am can't get here soon enough!
Ugh...
Called the dr and have to wait until 215 to be seen. Ridiculous when all I need is to pee in a cupnso they can test it, tell me it's positive, and give me antibiotics.

I don't know if this will help you now, but there's stuff that you can get over the counter called AZO and it's amazing. It basically numbs your urinary tract so it doesn't hurt to pee. You need to take it with a little food or milk or it will give you a stomach ache, and it will turn your pee bright kool-aid orange, but it works wonders. You can even take it once you've started the antibiotics but before you start feeling some relief.

Feel better soon.

cranberry if you got it, or water til you burst lol at least you get some relief by peeing some, warm bath helps too... take some tylenol or advil in the meantime, usually the dr will phone in an Rx for you if you call and speak to a nurse (save yourself a trip to the dr & copay!)

Rachel---Cranberry works for prevention, not for treatment. And there is too much sugar in regular juice for it to help, considering how much you'd have to drink for it to be therapeutic. Get unsweetened cranberry juice and mix a drop or two of stevia liquid in it to make it a bit sweeter. Stevia is a zero calorie plant-based sweetener. It is MANY times sweeter than regular sugar so start out with a very small amount and work up to desired taste.

Drink lots and lots of water to help flush the bacteria from the bladder and ut then go to the doc tomorrow. Good luck. D.

Hi Rachel,
I have no answer to your question since it is already morning - but I do have sympathy for you...I went to my urologist yesterday for the same thing. Got to pee in a cup for him and then for the lab at the hospital.

Fell better soon. UTIs are so miserable...UGH

God Bless

Stay away from corn products, sugary& acidic foods and drinks, because antibiotics will make it easier for yeast to thrive and you'll be more likely to have a yeast infection after your UTI is over. Drink a lot of water eat yogurt while on antibiotics or stop at the pharmacy and get acidophilus caplets/gels because the live active bacteria will eat yeast. Another benefit is that the acidophilus helps regulate your digestive system a bit.

But it's very important to drink a lot of water, and you can take ibuprofen for pain. The more you pee the more you're flushing out the germs making you sick.
