Mamas & Papas -

Grandma asked us to buy an umbrella stroller to use for DS (16 months old). She's having a hard time with the city mini and the uppa baby vista that my MIL bought for us. I don't blame her. Both my mother and I are petite. Folding the uppa vista is a real challenge, and while the city folds easily enough, both are hard to get into and out of the trunk.

Looking to spend <$100. She'd like it to
take up minimal space.
be easy to fold.
recline.
have a shade.
have some basket.
be well made.
and accommodate him till he's 3/4 years old.

Any recommendations? Thanks so much for your help. We live in the city, so getting to a buy buy baby, or baby depot, or some othetr such place to field test these is a real challenge. My shopping is largely online. While we can do returns, I'd rather have my shopping be a success.

Best to you and yours,
fanged bunny

When my daughter was small I had a Jeep umbrella stroller and liked all the features it offered. Reclining seat, the back of the seat also rolled up the let air in (it had a mesh back), side pockets for snacks or small toys and a cup holder. I found it was so easy to fold, light weight and had taller handles then other umbrella strollers.

I really like the maclarin stroller my umbrella stroller is 6 years old and still going strong. Super light weight, folds with one hand, stylish and works well for tall kids and the handle height is great for parents u don't have to hunch. Also easy to clean. Back then I ordered mine online at babyage.com. I used only this stroller and a jogging stroller. I liked it so much!

I also have a Chicco, but mine is the Capri http://www.chiccousa.com/gear/strollers/ct06-capri/ct06-c...

I love it, but the weight capacity is 37 lbs.

The Chicco stroller that Jennifer posted goes up to 40, and I'd say that the 3 extra pounds capacity, 1 hand recline, sturdier basket, parent cupholder, infant boot, VERY easy fold (the Capri requires you to remove the sunshade to fold, but the Liteway doesn't) and automatic latching would be worth the extra money I'd do the Chicco Liteway if I could choose again.

Chico! Love ours. Was under $60. Doesn't have a huge basket. It's the lime green one with polka dots on it. Not sure name of it. Check Craigslist. You almost need four different strollers these days to accommodate different errands, children, ect.

After 4 kids and numerous strollers, this one is BY FAR MY FAVORITE! Watch the video.

WORTH EVERY PENNY. I got it at Toys R Us on sale, so it was $120. I'd pay twice that amount...honestly. Don't tell Chicco. LOL

I second the Chicco Liteway stroller. It reclines all the way flat which we love. It cost us about $130 but well worth it in our opinion.
