My two boys were very much unplanned, however right now my husband and I have been trying to concieve for about 4 months now without any luck. Is there something I can do like change my diet take vitamins or something. I have endomyetryiosis, and just out of the blue one day got pregnant with my oldest, same thing with my youngest. I never used condoms, but have been on birth control b4. Both times I came off of it and a month later was pregnant this time it is not going that way. why is it so diffcult this time, and is there anything else I can do.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well here is an update, it is 3/24 and i did get my monthly friend as expected on the 10th however it was different this time, it only lasted 2 days and the first was really heavy then the second was really light. Now all week I have been getting these urges that i feel very nauseated but I only actually had to throw up once. So my hubby and I decided to wait till April to see if I get it and then take a test. I know it is possible now, cause with both my boys i got it, my oldest for 3 months, my youngest for the first month, but we decided to wait to be sure. I would also like to thank everyone for their input, I am taking it all into consideration. Also I would like to say till now I felt like I had noone to talk to and now I do this is great!

I had my two boys and wanted to have another and we tried and tried until I just gave up. Than all at once I found out I was pregant. So maybe just try to not worrry about it or not try so hard and than it will come. I just gave up and it happened.

Hi E.! My advice to you would be to start your prenatal vitamins, if you haven't already. My doctor told me that you should be on prenatal vitamins 3 months before you start trying to conceive. It helps to lower the risk of certain birth defects like spina bifida. Plus it helps your body start preparing for a healthy pregnancy.

And as far as planning the conception of your next child, I would say don't. Both of my girls were totally unplanned, and they both took only one month to be conceived. I had a miscarriage about 2 years ago, and that pregnancy we were trying to plan. Didn't turn out so well. It took me 5 months to get pregnant. I would say, try not to think about it, and try not to plan it. Things seem to go a lot smoother and quicker when you don't focus on them.

Good luck and happy baby making! ;)

First and foremost, relax. Take your time. From everything I've read, the average couple takes 6 months to conceive. The more you obsess and think about it, the less likely you are to become pregnant, at least that was the case with me! Once I stopped taking my temperature, etc., it happened!

It will happen, be patient.

Best of luck to you E.. I am also TTC right now..we are on month #4.

Relaxing, not thinkging about it and not stressing are not an option when you want something so bad. So I won't say any of those things to you...because that doesn't help. At least it doesn't help me...only infuriates me! Relaxing never got anyone pregnant...timing when you ovulate typically does :)

I'm sending you a virtual hug and lots of big fat positive pregnancy vibes.

For some reason when you are trying to conceive it's a little harder. I never understood that. Perhaps it's the stress. Prenatal vitamins is supposed to help. It's still pretty early on but if you like you can also try acupuncture. I've known a few women who succeeded with that when fertility treatments did not.

Good luck!

stop trying and let natural take its course. Easier said then done. With my oldest we tried for 9 months and in that 9th month at the beginning we was like lets wait awhile so we quit trying and we got pregnant that month. Your still young so time itsnt a factor so if you want to keep trying take your temp every mourning and BD on the days your temp is up. But the stress of trying makes it harder to concieve (IMO) Good Luck!

My husband and I tried for a good 9 months with our first one before we gave up on trying. Shortly after, I was pregnant. I'm now pregnant with my second and while we weren't trying, we weren't exactly not trying very hard either. So...what worked best for us was to just stop trying. Takes the stress off and got the job done for us. Sorry I can't give you anything more definite.

Hi E.! My daughter and son were both unplanned as well. Since you are however trying to plan this pregnancy, check out http://www.americanpregnancy.org/gettingpregnant/ovulatio... and use their ovulation calendar so that you will know when you're ovulating and most likely to get pregnant.

Definitely take prenatal vitamins that have the research recommended dosages of folate to help reduce the risk of neural tube defects and iron for optimum health during pregancy, a blend of calcium, plus magnesium, phosphorus, and vitamin D to strengthen bones and reduce the risk of osteoporosis, and DHA and EPA essential fatty acids from fish oil that are critical for brain and eye development and help support healthy cognitive development of prenatal and nursing babies. I used these with my son (didn't know about them with my daughter) and my health and energy was off the charts! Send an email if you'd like to know where to get them in your town to ____@____.com

My other advice is that after you find out when you're ovulating try not to be stressed about it, you're newlyweds, full of love so just make it! If after using the ovulation calender a few months and you still don't get pregnant I would speak with your gynecologist and at their suggestion a fertility specialist.

Happy family planning!;)

My doctors told me that it can take the average couple 12 months to conceive their first child, although a large number of couples conceive by 6 months. It took me 5 months to conceive my first daugther. It took me 13 months to conceive my second child via fertility assistance, but unfortunately that pregnancy ended in miscarriage. I conceived my second daughter 7 months later, also via fertility assistance. I would suggest charting your cycle and/or using ovulation predictors to see when you are ovulating.
