Hi,
My son loves Thomas and I would like to know if any of you moms out there know of a good place to purchase thomas trains or if any of you are looking to sell your Thomas/brio sets?

Thanks!
J. F.

You can always check ebay. If you do that, make sure that you check out the shipping costs before you bid. Sometimes sellers really jack up the shipping costs to offset the selling cost. You can get really good deals on ebay.

We were just at Walmart and they have a 146 pc Thomas train set for $50 bucks. Its for 3 and up. They also had the walmart brand that came witha table and it fits Thomas brand and Brio.

Our kids love Thomas too. We started out with the wooden trains & track so we go to the Learning Express at Cross Pointe center. They have a Thomas piece of the month that's on sale, and a lot of times will have 20% off pieces. United Art and Education (in the Sam's Club shopping strip on 725 [they're on the far left, past Books A Million old store, almost by that Sports club/restaurant]) is also a great place to go. They just had their big Thomas weekend two weekends ago where they had a party and everything.

You should really check out the big Thomas Train in September at the Lebanon Railway if you haven't already. You can buy a ticket and ride an actual train car that Thomas pulls (well, the diesel engine on the far end actually does!) and there are tons of free activities and loads of Thomas stuff to buy, though we just get something really unique we can't find elsewhere because they don't discount the prices. We really love that train for our Santa trip (you take your own pictures so can make your own cards (100 for $25 at Sam's Club!) or photos for family. They also do the same thing with the Easter Bunny. www.lebanonrr.com/index.htm

Of course, if you want the plastic trains and track you can go to Target or WalMart; the Learning Express also has some plastic pieces, I think. It just depends on whether you want to go with the plastic or wood. You can get a lot more pieces in the plastic, but it's fun having the old-time wooden pieces.
