Hi Moms!
Just wondering when you switched from a highchair to booster seat?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all of the great advice! We have a travel high chair that resembles a booster seat. I am going to pull that out and give it a try.

I moved my son to a booster at about 15 months. It seemed like he was wanting to be closer to his older sister. Also, it helped him learn how to use a spoon & fork because he could see her doing it. Another bonus is that I've found it to be much easier to keep the booster seat clean - less nooks & crannies for food to hide!

We switched my first born to the booster at 15 months old, right after our second-born arrived, so that she didn't think that she was losing all her "stuff" to the new baby. Even though our son wouldn't sit in the highchair for 4-5 months, we gave her time to get "unattached" to her highchair before she saw her brother in it.

I say wait until your child either risks injury by trying to climb out all the time or asks to sit in a booster seat in a regular chair. My kids both stayed in until 2, though we used booster chairs at grandmas, restaurants etc...

I moved my son to a booster seat at about 9 months. He likes it much better.

We moved my son to a booster at about 12 mos because we were staying with my mom and that's what she had...but he turning two in a month and my husband and I just bought him the Kaboost thing at Babies r us. He absolutely loves it! (and so do I) It is a contraption that fits right on the bottom of your regular kitchen chairs and boosts it up so he can reach the table. It has two heights (similar to a normal booster seat) so you can adjust it as he gets bigger. Our son loves feeling like he is sitting in a real chair like us and it actually makes my kitchen chairs really stable (they don't slip or slide while he's climbing up. I am so glad we bought this for him and I think it's definately worth a try for you. :)

With my 2nd and 3rd, they switched to a booster at 18 months because they wanted to be with their older siblings. My oldest was in her highchair until she got anxious to get out. I think she was over two though.
