There are a bunch of brands that have sunblock especially for babies and they are SPF 50+. Aveeno, Banana boat, Hawaiin Tropic, Water babies, etc. I recommend using one that is pediatrician recommended like the Aveeno brand :)

Hi R., I'm C. from Avondale, my friend Katie has great advice on the product you need. Some sunscreens have chemicals that are very toxic.

As harmful as the UV rays are these days, my dermatologist recommended recently for me to use nothing less than 30 SPF and he strictly told me to use nothing less that 50+ SPF for my young kids and toddler.
My sister used less than that on her son over the years and so far he's had about half a dozen skin cancer spots cut off his back and he's only 13.
Hope the advice given by other moms and myself offer you the help you seek. God Bless..

I really liked California Baby sunscreen for my little boy. It is a chemical free and fragrance free sunscreen. I think I had it in spf 30. It also comes in a stick form which is really great for putting on baby's face and even little arms and legs.

When the bugs start to come out, I also used thier Bug Repellent which worked pretty well down here in Las Cruces, and the combo Sunscreen & Bug Repellent formula is great - you don't have to try and apply two products on a wiggly baby. It is DEET free. They say DEET isn't harmful, but if you get it on your lips they go numb so that just scares me.

Another good one that I used once last year and have more for this year is Alba Botanica kids sunscreen.

Haven't had a sunburn yet! You can probably find any of these at a natural foods store. I think Target now carries California Baby. Don't forget a hat and sunglasses if you can get him to wear them!

Hi R.! I highly recommend Arbonne's Baby Care Sunscreen SPF 30+.
You can protect your baby’s delicate skin with this gentle, water-resistant sunscreen that provides broad-spectrum sun protection. Formulated with SPF 30+, this lotion provides maximum protection for sensitive skin.

Key Ingredients: Oat, aloe and shea butter oils

Skin Types: Baby, children, plus extremely sensitive

One thing I've learned too through Arbonne is that you do not actually ever want to use anything higher than an SPF 30 on any skin type. Anything higher than SPF 30 can actually cause a chemical burn on the skin! Not good, especially for babies' delicate skin!
If you're interested, please feel free to visit my website for samples and to contact me: www.mandyolsen.myarbonne.com. Thanks so much!
Enjoy your baby and the outdoors!
Sincerely,

Arbonne's Baby Care Sunscreen is SPF 30+. It's great for baby's skin, hypoallergenic, dermatologist and pediatrician tested. It's formulated without mineral oil, petroleum, lanolin, etc. that actually irritate the skin and doesn't allow it to breathe. I don't have any experiences with any other brands. Let me know if you have any questions.

Most baby sunblocks are fine for children 6 months and older. I just took my 4 month old baby girl to Hawaii and asked the pediatrician what sunblock to use. She suggested something with Australia in the title (I never found it), California Baby, or Weleda. They are all natural, but a little on the pricy side. I went with California Baby (Weleda is hard to find) and it really worked well. Good luck!

Hi R. congratulations on your baby!! I was told on the subject of sunblock for a infant that there is no sunblock out there for a baby!! The chemicals in any sunblock are harmful to your baby!! The best thing to do for your baby is to keep him in the shade, cover him, and keep his skin cool!! That's what my peditrician recommended to me!! Hope that this helps you out!! Have a good spring and a Happy Easter!!
