Stuffed Animal Hoarding

My 3 year old son started really loving stuffed animals about 6 months ago. He loves to sleep with all of them and bring all of them with him when he comes downstairs or goes to bed. There are about 6 of them and knows which one is missing at bedtime. If he gets a new one it has to be included in the big pile. He insists on carrying all of them but thankfully leaves them alone during the day. This is not a problem at all, just wondering if your kids hoard their toys or their stuffed animals.

What can I do next?

You only have SIX?! My 4 yo takes his little entourage of about 12 stuffed animals downstairs to watch TV when he wakes up in the morning. I find them all over the house throughout the day. He doesn't really play with them during the day. They usually become the victims of his baby sister who drools all over them and tries to rip their tails off. Each week we give them a "bath" in the washing machine. Then we sit and laugh as each one gets squished by the agitator.
Every night we round them back up and in the bed they go, all propped up looking at him. God help us if his favorite cow, Buttermilk, is missing. He even has a picture I took of him and Buttermilk on the wall in his room. LOL
We have managed to get rid of one or two, but that's about all. Glad I am not the only one! :)

DS has so many that he has to pick a 'buddy of the night' from the big pile at the foot of his bed.

My daughter has a toy basket full of stuffed animals. Whenever we go through their toys to give away the ones they don't use, she always finds a few to give away but REFUSES to get rid of any of her stuffed animals. They are very special to her. At one point we went through all of her stuffed animals and she named them all. She still sleeps with at least six of them (she's 8). When she first started sleeping in her own room (she was almost 3), she put ALL of them on her bed; she barely had any room for herself! :-) It was so cute, and one of my favorite pictures of her.

My oldest have three "lovies" and he's 11. They are on his bed along with his "pancake" (his blanket). he keeps them in his room and they give him comfort...I still have my stuffed animal from when i was a baby - he's pretty beat up seeing that he's 45 years old...but that's my lovie.

My youngest boy? ALL of his stuffed animals are in a toy box. He takes out the one he wants to sleep with every night. He has a Ty Beanie (the larger one) that he calls Teddy - which was a gift from my parents and that goes anywhere he goes around the house....

So you wanna know if it's normal? I say so.

I can remember when my son was that age he used to line up his hotwheels side by side and even sleep with them.
