Single Mom ?

I am secretary of my church (New Hope Baptist in Acworth). I put a note in our last weeks bulletin about the following that you might like to attend.

First Baptist Church of Woodstock is having their 6th Annual Single Mothers' Banquet Friday, June 20th at 6:30 pm. It will be in the Magnolia Room at their church. Their special guest this year is recording artist Russ Lee. The Banquet is free, and they have free childcare. Just call Nancy Tucker of the Single Mother Ministry at ###-###-####, or e-mail her at ____@____.com by June 13. They need your reservation by then, and the names, dates of birth/school grade of your children that will be in childcare during the banquet. I hope you decide to attend. It will be a wonderful opportunity for not only a fun and uplifting night out, but a great time to meet other single moms. God bless you as you raise the children He blessed you with.

S. hello, this is so weird. I pretty much posted the same request on the board a couple of weeks ago. Someone told me about www.meetup.com. It's not like a singles thing. Meetup is a place you can go and put in where you live and it will bring up information on groups you are interested in. If your looking for bookclubs then it will show you all of the book clubs that have been formed in your area and give you a chance to join. If your looking for a way to get fit it will bring up all of the groups in your area that deal with fitness and you can go shopping. I love Meetup. I wanted to find a group of women who were looking to keep each other encouraged and looking to do positive things, I found one. I was looking for a book club, I found one. I was looking for a way to stay fit by dancing, I found one and last I was looking for a group of people who were interested in starting nonprofit organizations and giving back to there community, I found one. Greetings to all the SM's!! I'm a single mom and I have 3 children - 2 girls and 1 boy. I also work full time and I'm trying my best to make the summer last as long as possible. I'm open to any local gatherings for single moms/families.

I've noticed several postings from single moms. There are a few of us out here.

I tried at one time to form a group for single moms, but it didn't work out. There were a few problems: 1) We're all on different custody schedules, 2) As single moms we all have very tight schedules with little down time for get togethers, 3) There seems to be a divide between divorced moms and moms who were never married (I didn't hear from any widows).

I'm a single mom.. Real time single mom.. I just formed a single mothers organization called Sisters United Inc. We had our first event this past Saturday in MD. I am relocating to Atl in July. I would love to chat with you.
