i'm trying to shop for a carseat and stroller and i'm needing a feedback from anyone who has used the alpha omega elite convertible car seat. it says on the package that i can use it for my newborn up till 90lbs. can i really use for my newborn like it says.
secondly, i need advice on the best car seat( in terms of durability, ability for me to use with baby for a longer time, strong, multi-purpose, its ability to fold and must be cost effective in the long run.
my friend suggested that buying the alpha omega elte convertible car seat by cosco(bought from sams club) and having a costco sit n stroller 5-in-1 carseat/stroller would take care of all my carseat and stroller needs. please comment on this car seats and let me know if they are worth getting because i'm low in cash right now.

Just remember that car seats have an Expiration Date. Even if says that you can use it up till 90 lbs, the expriation date would be well before that.

We bought the alpha omega elite convertible car seat for my daughter when she outgrew her infant carrier. We were very pleased with the car seat in general, but regardless of their claims, you never really know how long your child will be able to use the car seat. My daughter is so tall, she outgrew the length capacity long before the weight capacity so we really weren't able to use it for the full length of time promised by the manufacturer. We did not use it for her as a backward facing infant chair, but it did come with the head guard positioner so I don't see why it wouldn't work for an infant. It was definitely durable and we used it for the first 2 years for my son as well, again, not as an infant as we used the infant carrier for the car seat for that stage, but we switched to the Britax Regent a few months ago because it's supposed to be one of the best and you are supposed to be able to use it as a 5-point harness car seat until the child is 80 pounds. That is an important feature to me so we spent the extra money for that peace of mind. I don't think my son will outgrow the car seat as quickly as my daughter did since he's been more on the average height and weight scale since birth so I'm very hopeful we can get every penny out of this new, very expensive, car seat. All in all, we liked the alpha omega. It held up very well to a lot of use, but I'm happier with the peace of mind that the Britax brand brings and am glad we were able to purchase it for my son this time around. :-)

I always recommend Britax carseats, though they are pricey. Other than that I would say the Eveflo Triumph or this one: http://www.albeebaby.com/fiprsavodeco1.html
I've always used the Graco combo infant seat and stroller with no problems.

We're expecting our 3rd, and have tried all kinds of car seats. The hands down best is the Britax (any of their models will work). I had a paramedic tell me that he has seen wreks with some of the other car seats, and would never put his child in anything else. We used the Marathon from birth through 30 pounds (3 years or so) and then moved to the Regent, which will go through 100 lbs with a 5 point harnass. In my opinion, this is one area not to skimp on...splurge on the safety, and save on other things. Good luck!

Though you may get recommendations for great carseats or find one that you really like, one of the best things for you to do is make sure that it will safely fit in your car-every carseat does not properly fit in every car. Babies R Us will let you try them and trade them if need be-there are so many children whose carseats are improperly buckled. HTH

I would buy the Britax Marathon we have two children ages 2 and 6 months and we love our carseats. We have three of them and would not ever buy anything else. They are pretty big so please make sure you test them out in your car rear facing before purchasing. Try elitecarseats.com they will ship for free.

Hope I'm not too late to help you out but I loved my alpha omega elite. My daugter is two and used it until recently when it was in a car accident. We couldn't find the color alpha omega elite we wanted so we are trying something new now the Maxi Cosi convertible. It cost a tad bit more (199.00) but not much and I love it to. The two great and easy features I love on this seat are the easy tethers and the recline feature. But either one is a great choice. Remember all seats have to go through and pass all kinds of tests so what ever seat you do pick has passed the government standards. Hope this helps.
