Selling Jewelry on Ebay

I have sold some jewelry on Ebay. I tried to find something similiar already for sale and compare. If they were selling theirs for much less than I was willing to sell mine for and they weren't having much success, I knew I wouldn't be able to sell mine; and the same was true for the opposite. If people were bidding on someone else's item than was similiar to mine, then I started my bid somewhere near what they were getting. I haven't had coffee yet so I don't know if that made sense, but the best advice I can give you is be sure to put a minimum bid on the item that you can live with, and don't cheat yourself on shipping. And if it doesn't sell, I don't think you have to pay the ebay fees, which have been reduced lately so it's only like $1.50 or something to post. Good luck!

I suggest craigslist.org. You can sell your stuff locally and get paid cash. And remember, jewelry rarely sells at its appraisal price. Take a look at other jewelry postings on craigslist to get a feel for appropriate pricing.

If you live in McKinney, there was a place in one of those shops on the square that had "hierloom" jewelry. You might inquire of places like if they would help or guidance to you sell your jewelry ... Good luck.

I went to a seminar on tricks from the pros and you should do a search on ebay for what you are selling then look at the listings that have sold successfully and learn from their posts. (in other words, do what works) research is the best thing you can do to find out what has already been successful on ebay. I sold a TAG watch a few weeks ago that I needed money for bills and I got 1200.00 so I was happy with that. I did a buy it now and you can allso do buy it now or best offer and consider offers. those are my best ways to sell. I dont like doing the auction bids.

I would try Craigslist. A brief description and picture are normally all you need to prompt interest. Just make sure you always have someone with you when you meet up with people! :) I have sold a ton of stuff on Craigslist and always had great success.

I once sold a 3 carat diamond ring and tried ebay (no decent bids, I think people were afraid it wasn't real even though I had a current appraisal etc). Next, I put an ad in the Dallas Morning News. The first ad was in August and ran for a couple of weeks. I got little response, I think it was a bad time of year. The second ad was in early October and I got abt a dozen inquiries. I ended up selling it to the first person who looked at it for the exact amount I was asking.

The problem with ebay is you'll have to pay to put a minimum on each piece of jewelry or you may have to sell it for much less than you wanted. If you don't sell the piece, you've still spent money.

I don't remember what I paid for the classified ad, but it wasn't cheap.

I used my cell number in the classified ad's and arranged to meet people in the daytime at coffee shops.
