Hello, i am looking for a moms group in the grand rapids area. i attended MOPS this past year but i didnt quite feel like i fit in there. i guess im looking for something a little more real, if that makes sense. if anyone know of any catholic parishes that have established groups i would be interested in that also.

What can I do next?

Hi A.,
I am a member of IHM Catholic Church and we do have women's bible study that meets throughout the school year. It is typically on break during the summer. I am also a member of GR Mom's Club. We meet all the time. We have playgroups all year long. We do typically meet at parks in the summer. Please check out: http://www.geocities.com/momsclubgrsouth/index.html
Feel free to call or email if I can help out.

Hi A.,

You might be interested in the Bright Beginnings program. It is free to all residents of Kent County with children ages birth through five. They offer playgroups all over the county as well as home visits by a Parent Educator for parents who are interested. I WISH this program had been around when my son was born! I would have been all over the home visits. The Parent Educators provide families with information on your child's over all development with an emphasis on brain development. In addition, they provide activities that can be easily reduplicated and complete regular developmental screenings so you always know if your child is on track. If you are interested in enrolling, go to:

You'll be happy you did :)

I've been in the GR MOMS Club for over 4 years (the North Chapter). Depending on where you live in GR, there are different chapters. It is a lot of fun for the kids as well as the moms! We have weekly playgroups, weekly group-wide activities, moms night out, ect... I've met some good friends in this organization. We also do good things for our community. Go to www.momsclub.org for more information.
