I want to purchase a Play Kitchen for my daughter for Christmas and feel cheap looking at consignment shops for "Christmas gifts". Has anyone ever purchased a toy from a consignment shop? Do you recommend it? Are they still expensive and should I jut buy it brand new anyway?
90% of my son's toys come from yard sales. We clean everything well and he has so much to choose from. We also buy from the consignment shops for clothes and other toys. Most of the time the prices are half of what you would pay. We are ona budget and it has saved us. Another good store is in PSL on US1 by Staples called Cute Kids.
We also sell things at the con. shops and make some money!
Most consignments shops are expensive and its better to buy it brand new..If you want a cheap one try thrift stores or good will .. Walmart has things for cheap try them that way it will be cheap and brand new
I feel the same way. As a fellow single mom, I realize that we need to save as much as we can. Used toys is a great way to do that. I also purchase a lot of my children's toys at yard sales. There are two other good consignment shops I know about: Baby 2 on Port St. Lucie Blvd near Morningside (Big pet shop in the same plaza) and in the plaza behind the Winnedixie/ Kmart plaza in Fort Pierce on Virgina Ave(I can't remember the name)
I see nothing wrong with buying at consignment shops. There is a really nice one in Stuart in the plaza where Publix is. The lady that runs the place is very particular and almost everything in there looks new!
