Hello Mama's!
I am planning on being a consignor this spring for the first time at the Just Between Friends sale and was hoping that you more experienced mama's could give me some advice on how to make things go smoothly for the sale? Do I need to buy a clothing rack at Bed, Bath and Beyond as they suggested or I am ok to carry my stuff in. I have a lot of clothing items that I am wanting to sell, but I was unsure on the shoes? Is it worth it to try and sell the shoes too? Please let me know the good, the bad and the ugly and just what to expect!
Thanks in advance mama's!
A.

A. and others,

I'm happy to not have seen a lot of unhappy people talking about JBF since I co-own the Fort Worth sale! I hope your experience with us is great - or with whichever JBF you are consigning at. We try so hard to make it a good experience for everyone, but sometimes outside factors can really rock our apple cart. Hopefully we have anticipated all those problems and learned from our mistakes in the past. We put tons of hours into planning the sale each season.

On the clothing racks at Drop Off, we will have a very limited number of rolling racks (we have 10 - used to have 12 but 2 actually got stolen from us at the last sale) but they are in high demand - so that's why we encourage you to get your own if that is really important to you. Sometimes, you have to wait for one to become available. They definitely make Drop Off easier, but they are not necessary. I guess the more things you have, the more valuable they become.

On your shoes, I suggest you just bring your best because people just will not buy shoes if they aren't in pretty good condition. You are welcome to bring as many pair as you wish. I ALWAYS shop for shoes at the sale because they can be really expensive, so I'm always happy to see lots of shoes to choose from.

Good luck as you prepare for the sale. It really is a fun event and if you have plans to come to the Fort Worth sale, be sure to say 'hi'!

J.

Hi There A.!
I did the Fall JBF and I am doing the Spring one too! I made great money! I priced my stuff for 1/3 and then put everything down for markdowns and to donate. I did that because I knew I didn't have a way to pick up!! Hubby was working and I had both the boys! I would reccommend picking your stuff up before marking down and donate the stuff you really don't want back. I could have found good homes for a lot of the stuff I donated, but oh well, it's a tax write off, and it still will get used by those who need it!!
I didn't buy a rack, only because my husband was there to help drop off. I took in one load and Davy found a lady that was struggling by herself and her baby. Davy helped her unload her stuff and by the time I was finished with my one load he was putting our stuff on the hotel-rack. It worked out fine. As far as tagging make sure you use card stock, safety pin and clear heavy duty tape!! I didn't do mine correctly and they almost didn't let me leave my stuff. Also, they are very stict on the clothing matching the season!! Have fun!
