Recommendations for Lightweight Umbrella Style Stroller for Big Baby

My 14 month old is pushing the 30 pound mark now. I had a Chicco 6.0 with #1 son and loved it but it only goes to 40 pounds and I want something new that will take me over the 40 pound mark. I looked at the Mama and Papas Trek - but reviews are so mixed. Anyone have an umbrella, lightweight type stroller that goes to 50 pounds that they love?? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I love my Maclaren Volo! Amazon says it goes to 55 lbs. I bought for less than half of retail price new on ebay.

I have the Peg Perego Si, which goes up to 50 or 55 lbs, I can't remember, I'm thinking 55lbs. It is expensive, but it is all steel frame and it holds up well. We've had it for 2 1/2 years now and besides needing to be cleaned every once in awhile, we've had no problems. It reclines almost completely flat, but also lets them sit up almost all the way too. The downside is ours doesn't have a bar across the front, but we bought a cup and food holder that attaches to the side of the stroller to solve that problem for $13. I think the new ones have a bar across the front, but still no cup and food holder.

I also have a chicco that goes to 40 lbs, but my daycare provider loves her Maclaren. She has both a single and a double stroller and swears by them. She does in home daycare and has 4 kids of her own, so she uses it a lot. I think they all go up to 55 lbs.

Combi Flare- its been my favorite stroller (and I've had 8!). Its lightweight and tall- I'm 5'9" and hate how I was always hunched over with traditional umbrella strollers. It also has a decent sized basket underneath.

We were in the same boat and found the McClaren Volo. Look on eBay, because we found ours for about half the price, brand new.

What I like about it: it holds my kiddo for longer trips around the neighborhood. (He's four.) It's lightweight and once you get the hang of it, it's easy to open and close.

What I don't like: most people won't have this problem, but the handles are too tall for me! (I'm only 4'11") The basket below is small and if you hang anything of weight from the handles, it will tip over. (It's so lightweight.)

Look at the reviews on Amazon and see if it's right for you. It's not the best, but it's the *last* stroller I'm buying.

The Maclaren Volo! It's a wonder-stroller and it holds up for YEARS of wear and tear (and plane trips).
