I need to find plain white sports shoe for my daughter's gym class. They cannot have a logo, emblem, or any color. I can buy them from the uniform store, but they are $45 and I was hoping to get by without paying that much. Do any of you have a brand you can suggest and I can look it up online to find a store near me?

What can I do next?

Try Payless. A two minute search yeilded this... I don't know your daughter's size, but you do, so take a look.

I think the Reebok classics have a small tag on it with a logo and I would assume you could easily cut it off. I know the kid sizes run around $40, sometimes you can find them on sale for $30.

I would clarify with the school on the "they cannot have a logo or emblem" rule. Even if you get plain white New Balance, as someone said, or plain white Easy Spirit (which my daughter wears) there is still a logo on the shoe -- it is just in white or pale gray on white. I am always looking for white sneakers for my daughter, not because it's required but because she and I both prefer that. But I'd ask the school if they realize that virtually no sneaker is going to be without a logo, even if it's white on white. I'd bet they do realize that and will say, "Well, you have to buy them here."

You can indeed get fairly plain white sneakers from Payless, so try there, but frankly, the quality of all their shoes is pretty poor if you want a really solid, well-made sneaker. If she's under about six or seven, you can get good quality, all-white sneakers at Stride Rite --sometimes, if they're in stock -- BUT if she's much older than that she has outgrown their sizes. The Stride Rites I think may have a very small logo on the back of the heel but nothing big; it's been a while since we fit into that brand...And Stride Rites will cost you from $30 to $50 anyway.

I think the rule at the school is basically forcing you to buy from the school store -- I know, it prevents kids from being in competition over who has certain brands of shoes, but it's also requiring you to buy from that store, since every maker wants a logo on its shoes.

I bought plain white shoes, like joggers, from Payless for my grandsons Hip Hop shoes until I could afford the $55 ones. They didn't have anything on them except a bit of silver on the tongue which could not be seen once they were laced up.
