# Of Car Seats in SUV

What SUV's have the largest seating availability? Currently, I have a Ford Explorer. I can fit two carseats in the 3rd row, two in the 2nd row and possibly squeezing a booster in between but it would be tight. And then that means I can't have one of the seats folded down so kids can get back to 3rd row, and it would definitely make it hard for me to buckle them in back there.
TIA!

What can I do next?

Rented and LOVED the GMC Yukon .... two rows of back seats. the middle section had electric fold down seats for easy access to the back row. Back row was roomy and comfortable enough for 2 to 3 adults. There is still TONS of space in the cargo hold for all that comes with that many people. I dont own it, I dont need that big or powerful of a vehicle. Just rented for a Winter mountain trip outside of Denver CO. Usually I drive a Honda Odyssey and it fits my 3 kids in car seats just fine.

We had an Explorer but it didn't have the third seat. After our third baby was born we got an Expedition because we couldn't fit three carseats comfortably. And by comfortably I mean my four year old couldn't buckle his seat belt because the baby was in middle. The Expedition has more room and we like it!

I don't have an SUV but I don have an Odyssey. In my first row (currently, soon to change) is my 3 year old in a booster with a back, he's quite large and doesn't fit well in a carseat but that just change, then we have a convertible carseat in the same row. Those are captain seats but the van comes with an extra seat to go in between the captain seats that fits an average adult. In the third row I can fit three covertible carseats with out a problem or three average male adults in the third row. The side sliding doors makes it very easy to get everyone in and out. And since we hardly use that extra seat there's a little walkway for the kids to get to the back seat. I absolutely love my minivan I wouldn't give it up for the world. Since we've had it, we've talked 4 of our friends into buying one. They're easy and convenient. And since gas is supposed to be going up close to $6 in the summer, I fill my van up every 2 weeks. I can travle from Homestead to Orland 350miles on a half a tank.

We just bought a 2002 Escalade LE since we are pregnant with our 3rd baby. It seats 8. We can get 3 carseats in the middle 1 infant, 1 booster for my 5 year old and a larger carseat(maybe bigger booster?) for my 2 year old. The 3rd row sits over the wheel wells so we can't put an infant seat-3 boosters will fit there. Plus the 3rd row folds down-splits into 2 so you can fold down whatever side you want.
My inlaws have a new suburban and in that it's hard to fit 3 adults in the middle, much less the back! the ones that are 5 or 6 years old have more room.
Have you thought about a ford Excursion? They are a beast(some have a v-10) but sooooo roomy! Plus they go anywhere AND have a ton of space behind the 3rd row.

I had a suburban with second row captain chairs (AWESOME for access to third row, btw). it fit 7. But it was great for toting kids as all 5 seats in the back could be used even with rear facing seats. At one point i had my two and my friend's 2 all in full car seats, two in infant rear facers and they all fit and if needed, could have put another one in the middle of the two in the back. Those captain seats make a difference. it is easy to climb in, walk back and buckle em in and seriously you can walk straght up to the front seat IN the vehicle (I am 5'8" and could do easily). Gosh I miss my suburban. . .

I have a Tahoe seats 9 . Similar to you. I have to put the car seats in the middle and on one side in the middle and 3rd row so the one seat can move back and forth to make room for a additional kid with out a seat or a booster . I think a van is the best bet to get all your car seats in there and easy to go back in there to buckle them. It is great they seat 9 people, but with car seats it certainly is a challenge to get them strapped int he 3rd row.

Traverse seats 8, but I can only fit 3 carseats in the 3rd row (sunshine brand) and 2 other seats (booster and carseat) in the middle. I cant squeeze another booster in the middle...just doesnt fit. Love the car though!!

I have a Durango and I can fit 1 convertable car seat and 2 boosters in the middle row and either 2 convertable or 2 boosters in the 3 rd.

I put a booster near the door (w/o the backing) so I can easily move it to left the seat for kids to climb in the back.
