New Eagle School

We're considering buying a house in the T/E district. Our elementary school would be New Eagle. I drove by it today and it looks like a dump! I've not had a visit yet. I know T/E is one of the better districts in the area. Can anyone share their experience with the New Eagle School, good or bad?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for your responses. I did some research after sending this request and found the school was rated very well and does an excellent job meeting requirements. However, color commentary is always helpful in addition to just numbers from a website! :-)

TE is a great school district. I don't know what you mean "looks like a dump", but a school district doesn't get ratings like TE does without having great elementary schools. I think you're being very short-sighted, especially since you've said yourself you've never actually been in the school. Look at the data, not appearences.

We are also in the TE school district. Plan on visiting the school. Also find out when their next parent assoc. meeting is and plan on attending. You'll have a chance to see what's going on at the school, and be able to meet other parents and ask questions. All the elementary schools in the TE district are well regarded, but you'll only start to get a feel for New Eagle when you visit and meet parents.

Hi J. - I didn't go to New Eagle, but did go to Valley Forge, then VF Middle, then Conestoga. Just because it may look like a dump from the outside doesn't mean the faculty and classrooms are dumpy as well. VF Middle (where your kids would eventually go) and Conestoga are pretty nice, not quite "new", but they aren't dumps. TE is a really good school district, pretty much one of the best. there are plenty of good private schools around you as well!@ You are in a great location.

Good morning J.,
Congrats on your home buying decision! I always send my clients to these web sites...
the first one is good to see what the parents of kids in these schools think, the second gives you ALL the dirt and the third let's you know what schools are passing/not passing the no child left behind rule. I look at all three.
Good luck!
