When I had my shower for my second child, the girls that planned my shower put in the invite to bring a book for my older child. So, while I was opening my gifts for the new baby, she had presents to open as well which made it fun for her.

My sounds like your free time keeps you quite busy with a lot of little ones. Congrats on your new arrivals to be.

Most baby showers have games like guessing how big the baby is where you use streamer to go around the Mom's belly so you have an accurate read and then all the guests take streamers and cut off a piece to see how close they actually are. The kids will be able to do that and it would be fun for all involved.

You can also have the little ones help with the baby food jar game, where you take the labels off of the baby food and have the guests guess what flavor it is. The little ones might be able to help with that one, but they can definitely help you take the labels off of the jars. Make written notes of which is which before you take off the label though.

You can also crush up candy bars of different textures and flavors and put them in baby diapers. The kids might have fun with that one too.

Good luck!

Well this theme is the best I have heard in a while. I love it. I also think that including your two grandchildren in the shower is wonderful. I agree that books are a must in every childs life. The last post suggested everyone bring a book, and I think that is great! For the theme.....well lets see......I would get a nice tall jar and place a number of double stuffed oreos in it, and make the guests guess how many are in the jar. Prize should go to the person who is the closest with out going over. Just remember how many you put in there.LOL.
Secondly, I would have a little book for the guest to write words of wisdom, blessings, and nice thoughts about motherhood and the mother as they arrive. I would serve finger foods. Cake should be choc, with whip cream icing and crushed up oreos all over it!!!!!!!That sounds so yummy!Since Oreo cookies debuted in 1912, over 362 billion have been sold, making them the best-selling cookie in the U.S. during the 20th century. I would do more reasearch on that and print it out for the babies books.I would also have everyone sit in a circle with one cookie and a cup of milk and one at a time all eyes on the woman, have her tell a story about a memory with your daughter or a funny story about motherhood as she is twisting the oreo cookie to dunk and eat. Just some off the wall ideas. Good luck.

You could have an "It Takes Two" themed shower. Everthing would be things that come in pairs. Like 2 Peas in a Pod, Twinkies, Ding Dongs, Socks, Shoes, Gloves, Earrings, etc. Or two things that go together...Ketchup/Mustard, Chocolate/Vanilla, Milk/Cookies, Peas/Carrots, Baseball/Apple Pie, Fire/Ice, etc.

An easy activity would be to have everyone decorate 2 oneies with the pair theme. They could pick there favorite pair and decorate each one with one half of the pair. (I hope this makes since?!?!)

Hope this helps! Good luck and Congrats!

What wonderful creative ideas.. especially from Celeste J! In regards to the baby food taste test.. We did this recently at a Guy/Girl shower. Get the Dad-to-be-again and a few other guys present, blindfold them and they are the victims. It was hysterical to see their expressions while eating the baby food meats and peas. I would simply get your grandchildren to help w/ decorating and opening gifts. Depending on their age, they can do some cute artwork w/ a baby boy and a baby girl, make cards for the happy couple.

HUmmm I really don't know if I could help but, I can tell you that I am a mom of twin with 2 older children ages 9 &6. My mom had planned a surprise shower for me however, I ended up going into labor the day of. So my shower came much much later (in the day)---with just a few relatives that showed up at the hospital after birth a few hours later. I missed all the food and fun. However, since it's very normal---I should tell you and your daughter that even though she may be due in June like I was, prepare for an early birth like say "early May". I had mine as early as 31 weeks as well as another mom in the area with her set of twin. So plan early on.
As far as activities---I would keep them light, since the weight of two babies is exhausting, but do more of a sit down sort of thing, for example, collect names (one boy, one girl) from each individual in attendance-this will help mom and dad pick out names if none are selected, then read aloud later on. Choices can be made later. You can search online, for other ideas such as googling...ideas for baby showers games, activties. A lot will come up. Congrats on your set of grand-twin on the way.
PS-Be informed that each year in Twinsburg, OH, there is a parade held right around the first week of March or so for all the twins in the entire US continent and even some as far as Europe attend. Something to consider as they get older for something unique to do. It's quite an event.

Best of luck
Mom of 4.
