He was that less than 1% chance of a psychotic break while taking vyvanse for his ADHD. He's been off the vyvanse for 3 years and had recovered within 1 week almost fully only he's stuck with bright light spots that clutter his vision at night. The light spots are always present only not as bright during daylight. He had a full eye exam which turned out normal. Has anyone experienced anything similar re light spots at night?

I experienced light spots a lot in the past. I finally found out that I was experiencing silent migraines. I had all of the classic symptoms of a migraine, without the pain. Once we treated the migraines, the light spots went away.
I would suggest asking for a referral to a neurologist.

My son was never on Vyvanse. However, he did have floaters and eye pain. After numerous eye exams, we went to a neurologist. My son was experiencing "ocular migraines". Since he was 9 at the time, the medication they wanted to prescribe was not good for a growing child. We opted to work through it. My son is now 16 and (knock on wood) hasn't had any ocular migraines in 4 years.
i agree with the migraines. i get both the painful migraines and the painless visual disturbances. a visit with a neurologist will help and they can determine the best course of treatment for your child.

Possibly flashers and floaters from the vitreous gel in the eye? Usually that happens as people get older, but maybe thickening of the gel is a side effect of the meds? I would find an experienced psychiatrist who is well versed in the meds.
