So What Happened?

I'm proud of myself!!! I got up this morning and brought my little one to the gym with me. I'm a kickboxing kind of gal so walks and runs just don't do it for me too much. I love the gym I go to cause she's the only one in the kids area so she gets all the attention. The hardest day is day 1... But I know imma stick to it and keep working out, the holidays are coming and want to look good in the thousands of pics we take and be a sexy momma instead of looking frumpy :) thanks everyone for the comments, it all helped me get back to the gym!

motivation is a personal thing. what motivates one may not another. so some ideas for you. Me personally I am going on a cruise in less than 3 weeks. I LOVE the feeling I have for the rest of the day when I have worked out. Now this is kind of cheesy but I love it. I have a calendar hanging in my bathroom and for every 15 mins I work out I put a sticker on the day. But dang I want those stickers!

i've tried and tried to do the gym thing, and i just HATE it... i have recently started walking 7.5 miles every morning during the week and i love it. it's doing me some good to "get out", and i actually have more energy and i'm feeling less stressed. i am a "routine" person, and i go every morning after i drop my boys at school at 7:40, we get there about 7:45, i put my little girl in her stroller, and we walk a 2.5 mile park loop 3 times. maybe start with somethign simple like working a daily walk into your routing and build from there?

When I need motivation I normally take my fat burners and that definitely gets me moving without feeling lazy or tired. Speeds up my metabolism and gets my blood moving then I take a cardio class with an instructor that also has kids and I see her and think to myself if she can look like that after two kids then SO CAN I!!!!

Maybe start running with her? You might need to wait until she is just a little older before you put her in a jogging stroller though. If you make a goal like run a 5k in 3 months or 6 months, it really helps get you motivated. If you don't run, couch to 5k works great to get you started. You can also do that with her, and it doesn't have to be early. If you really want to go to the gym, is there daycare there? I go to our local rec center, and my son just goes to the day care there (and has since he was around 6 months). Again, so it isn't so early, and if you enjoy it, it will be enough motivation.

One other really motivating thing, exercise with a friend. If you are both getting up at 6 to do something together, you can't let each other down. Sometimes that is the only way I get up and run or workout, can't let my friend down.

I hear you!! meeh too my daughter will be 16 months in 2 days I have about 20lbs left.

Just put your daughter in a stroller slap some pants on her, cover w/a blanket & go. You don't really need to fuss over getting her ready just yourself.

That's it I'm buying shoes & going walking tonight.
Thanks Roxanna

I have your same problem. I ended up posting on my local mommy group that I need an exercise buddy. We've been going to the gym semi-regularly for three months now.

Gosh, since you live in San Diego, forget the gym..I wouldn't want to bring a newborn baby there.

Go walking, go the park with her, walk or ride bikes at the beach, swim...just stay active. You'll be chasing her at the park in a few short months.
Congrats!!
