I'm looking for places online or at stores where I can buy an affordable car for my son, but they have from $300 and up and I think thats too pricey, any ideas, Thanks

What can I do next?

I second waiting until it gets nice out since they do go on sale-next month maybe. And if you do buy a used one, make sure it is charged and you can try it out for at least 5 minutes. My husband bought 2 used ones. One would not charge and the other, the charger was not the correct one. We were able to order the correct charger but the second one was never usable since it was broken (battery change did not make a difference). The good car only lasted a year, and not used very often either.

Try craigslist or your local Multiple's clothing resale. I got a 2 seater Jeep for 100.00 this weekend at my local sale. you can check for ones in your area at www.iomotc.org

Good luck!

Try Craigslist. I don't know if many people would have them listed now, but surely when the weather starts to get nice. Also, keep your eyes out for a Toys R Us or Babies R Us 20% off coupon. That'd be a big chunk off of an expensive car. One word of advice....be careful if buying one used. Make SURE the battery is good or it comes w/the battery or charger. If it doesn't work, the battery alone could cost your $50 or more.

I see that your son is 15 months....a car-car might be a little difficult for him at this age. My son was 2 1/2 when he got his Lightning McQueen car and that was in the winter at Christmas. So he was close to 3 before he really started driving it. He's a PRO now though.

They have a Fisher Price Kawasaki "bike/motorcycle" on sale at TRU right now. Regularly $100 for $60 and it got good reviews. My son is turning 2 this week and that's what we're getting for him. It's also battery operated, but they just have to press a button instead of actually having to push on the "gas" Just a thought.

Craigslist and chicago reader online. I see a Barbie trail rider for $100 on craigslist which is a great price but none for boys...

We have a battery operated bike that we really like. It's Fisher Price PowerWheels Lil Quad. Retails at Target for $69.99. It has 6 volt rechargeable battery, and sometimes I think it's more fun than a car. It's from ages 2-3. We got it when my son was 17 mos. and now at 20 mos. he's gotten pretty good at pushing the power button and steering it at the same time. I guess it just takes practice.
