We will be spending 3 weekday nights in Vegas in July and we have 3 kids ages 8,7,and 4. Can you recomend any fun things for the kids to do besides the circus circus and all the little free show the hotels put on. Is there any lake or little hikes with kids to get to a spring or waterfalls they can play in?? Maybe some thigs right outside of Vegas?? Also has anyone seen the animal show? Is it worth it? Are there anyshow worth taking the kids to?? Thank you soo much!!

What can I do next?

Definitely the Hoover Dam. Mandalay Bay has an aquarium that is pretty nice . . . I think a lot of local schools go there for field trips! The Mirage has their Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat (for a fee) or else just go into the lobby for their aquarium display. The Venetian has the gondola rides both outside and inside (for a fee) and they also have their "Italian Palazzo" which is really cool because they have "street" performers including living statues. The Bellagio has the dancing fountains outside (unless it's too windy) but inside they have, for free, a beautiful botanical garden with butterflies. There is also the Red Rock Canyon, http://www.actiontours.com/ATV_final/red-rock-canyon-tour.... We took our children to Las Vegas a few years ago and part of the fun was just seeing the hotels -- like the city/park feel of New York New York or the mall inside Caeser's Palace, etc. Have fun!

The Hoover Damn is pretty impressive if they have not seen it before (outside of Vegas towards AZ). The Cirque Du Sole shows are like a circus on steroids....VERY COOL but be careful as the Zumanity and I think one other are very adult oriented. I loved the 'O' Show and the Original (The 'O' show adds water). The reemonth Street Experience in the old strip runs every night and has a laser light show and live music plus food etc. and is pretty fun to see.

I recommend the shark reef aquarium at Mandalay Bay...very cool. Also, Zion National park is 2 hrs away...could do it as a day trip. It is my favorite national park, truly amazingly beautiful.

We also went to the Hoover Dam. We saw a magic show at one of the hotels (can't remember which one for sure, but I think it was at New York, New York?), and my kids loved it. It was a splurge, but worth it. We were only there for 2 days, so that was enough for us! Plus walking up and down the strip - plenty of free stuff to see. Have fun!!

You should all go on the Hoover Dam/Lake Meade tour. You can arrange them from your hotel -BIG lake and the kids would probably be very interested in checking out the dam and all the inner workings of it -plus it's HUGE!
