carry a murse?
I was looking on-line to get some ideas for gifts for my hubby and I notice that they list a murse first.
My husband would NEVER carry something like this. A back pack fine, a laptop bag also fine.
So do any of you know a man that carries a purse (opps a murse)?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Jim, my husband says he will take away a guys "man card" for using them.
I seem to be his pack mule, if we are out he will have me put stuff in my purse and thats fine with me.
I think these fit in with the term "metro sexual". When I was working the younger men in the office would get manicures, take extra efforts to groom themselves and dress nice (without help from mom or girlfriends) and they were not gay. I guess they need them to carry around hair products and stuff like that.

My husband (who is British) would never carry something like this! He doesn't even wear jewlery except for his wedding ring. I can't think of anyone that we know that has one.

I have a friend that's a drummer in a U2 tribute band and he carries all his post show stuff in his 1970 something Kiss lunchbox. It's all healthy stuff to eat after they're done playing but then he goes and smokes. Whaaaaa?

It's an ongoing joke about his "man box."

From The movie THE HANG OVER......

Phil Wenneck: You're not really wearing that are you?
Alan Garner: Wearing what?
Phil Wenneck: The man purse. You actually gonna wear that or are you guys just *uckin' with me?
Alan Garner: It's where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. Plus it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.
Phil Wenneck: So does Joy Behar.

LOL! No I don't!

NEVER!!!! He won't even carry mine, unless it's an emergency.

This song sounds like your husband:

I'm Still A Guy
Brad Paisley

When you see a deer
You see Bambi
And I see antlers up on the wall
When you see a lake
You think picnics
And I see a large mouth up under that log
You’re probably thinking that you’re gonna change me
In some ways well, maybe you might
Scrub me down dress me up
But no matter what
Remember I’m still a guy

When you see a priceless French painting
I see a drunk naked girl
You think that riding a wild bull sounds crazy
And I’d like to give it a whirl
Love makes a man do some things he ain’t proud of
And in a weak moment I might walk your sissy dog
Hold your purse at the mall
But remember I’m still a guy

And I’ll pour out my heart
Hold your hand in the car
Write a love song that makes you cry
Then turn right around
Knock some jerk to the ground
‘Cause he copped a feel as you walked by

I can hear you now talking to your friends
Saying yeah girls he’s come a long way
From dragging his knuckles and carrying a club
And building a fire in a cave
But when you say a backrub means only a backrub
Then you swat my hand when I try
Well now what can I say at the end of the day
Honey, I’m still a guy

And I’ll pour out my heart
Hold your hand in the car
Write a love song that makes you cry
Then turn right around
Knock some jerk to the ground
‘Cause he copped a feel as you walked by

These days there’s dudes getting facials
Manicured waxed and botoxed
But with deep spray on tans and creamy lotioney hands
You can’t grip a tackle box
With all of these men lining up to get neutered
It’s hip now to be feminized I don’t highlight my hair
I’ve still got a pair
Yeah, honey I’m still a guy

My eyebrows ain’t plucked
Theres a gun in my truck
Thank God I’m still a guy

hahahaha! My hubby has a "satchel" it's a messenger bag. He is studying for the CPA exam, he brings his textbook to work so he can read over lunch, and his notebook to take notes, and he puts his lunch in there. I think it's not a murse though? More of a bag?

Uh, no. Not a chance in hell. His keys, cell phone, wallet, gum & chapstick all fit in the pockets of his jeans. What in the world else would a guy need...? When the kids were babies if he was taking them somewhere without me he always took the diaper bag, but that was baby-related items only. Maybe it's just me, but I can't imagine what else a guy would carry with him.

I think messenger bags are sexy. Very Eurpoean chic. I love to see a David Beckham looking, sexy, stylish man with a 5 o:clock shadow and glasses with a messenger bag diagonally across his chest, showing a little definition of muscle. MUST be diagonal, over the shoulder, hanging on his hip or butt. Not hanging at his side. It kind of takes my eyes to all the sexy man parts, his neck, and shoulder, across his chest, and down to his hip or butt. I love it.
But no. My Man said the same thing about revoking his man card. If you ask me, they already took his man card the day he put my self tanner on thinking it was lotion.

He has me, and can put whatever he needs in my purse. If I'm not with him, then that's what pockets are for. If it doesn't fit in his pocket then he'll just carry it in his hands. He gets all embarrassed if he has to hold my purse for a few seconds out in public. Lol. He got PISSED when he saw the diaper bag I bought when our son was born. It was more a school book bag or a laptop case, but it was big (Which is what I wanted) and it was the only design that they had left... So he got stuck with a black bag that had pink butterflies all over it.

So no... He does not now, nor will he ever have, a man purse.

Mine does not, but it's VERY European (& that's not just a line from Friends! Even the cops in Barcelona have murses). It seems to have some small popularity in Los Angeles & NYC, but not in the rest of the US. You may just be throwing $ away (unless you're planning a trip to Europe, LA, or NY, where he might use it without getting a funny look). When I do see a man with a murse, I figure he could be from Europe. Curious to see your answers -

Honestly the only man that I know that would wear one is my cousin. He has 3 of them in different colors, to go with his outfits. Im NOT saying its because...but he is gay. Every other guy I know makes fun of them ( gay or not).

But really I can see some guys liking them and some not... its just like us women and purses. The poll not that long ago had some of us that had lots and some that hated them ( like me :) ) It all would depend on how much stuff they need to tote along with them.

No way! My hubby is not even a normal wallet-carrying fella (he hates that "lump" on his *ss apparently! LMAO!). He will just grab his license and the cash/debit card...or carry his checkbook sized newer wallet (with no checks in it) into places if I am not with him. UGH.

He does come home at the end of the day with this sort of large purse/small duffle that has work tools in it (they have to come in out of the heat/humidity and cold, etc extremes, and to avoid getting them stolen from his work vehicle so he just brings in every night).

I call THAT his man-purse. He glares at me and hates the reference. What a baby!

If I recall my ex BIL carries one. Otherwise, I don't know any guy who carries a murse. My husband wouldn't. He just loads up his coat pockets with random tools and sundry other things. He will carry a diaper bag if it is needed without issue.

I don't think guys have a lot to carry... if they do it is usually for work, right? There are work-related bags, cases, and whatnot already, so my husband uses that- for WORK equipment. No murse or anything.

Yeah, I think it does take away a "man-card". lol!

BTW, some people take a while to come to grips with being gay. I don't have anything against it, but JUST because someone is in a hetero relationship OR says they aren't gay, doesn't mean it is true that they aren't gay!

Metro sexual guys kind of puke me out too...sorry! I want some callouses and strong hands. I don't mind a bit of dirt under the nails. Those guys that have perfect eyebrows look weird to me. I want a man's man.

I won't carry a purse, not even if you put a big "M" on the front of it.

The only time I have seen a "man" carry one, he was holding hands and cuddling with another "man".

Good luck to you and yours.

No, but he even hates a wallet. It doesn't have anything to do with not being a man (we have pics of him at Dead concerts wearing a skirt) and everything to do with not wanting to carry anything he doesn't need.
Now, his knives in a rolled up apron? check. His extra shoes for work? In a back pack because he rides his bike to work. Would he think any less of a man who carried a murse? nope. That's why I consider him a real man, because he's not threatened by something so benign.
