I was curious if anyone has had luck or truely believes they picked the sex of their baby. Is it possible and what did you try? Thanks ladies!

Hello, Well I decided to reply because my husband and I tried both times for boys and got 2 boys! We followed every bit of advice we came accross and it worked! (or it was a total coincidence?? We can never be sure!)Anyway, from what I remember, the boy sperms swim faster AND die off faster so if you want a boy you want to have sex as close to ovulation as possible. You also want deep penetration (from behind is recommended) so that the boy sperms have a chance to be as close to the egg as possible and swim in there real fast before they die off. If you want a girl the opposite. Sex a day or so before ovulation so the boy sperms all die off before the egg is even around and the girls sperms then move in. I remember reading that it is easier to try for a boy than a girl just because it is harder to time it just right for a girl. The book I read (sorry I can't remember the title) gave excellent advice on how to tell when you were going to ovulate based on your (sorry, gross) discharge. I never noticed it before that time, but it changes in consistency, appearance and amount throughout your cycle. I was easily able to tell when I would ovulate based on that alone. I don't remember exactly what to look out for but I'm sure you could research that subject on the net nowadays. Good luck! :-)Janet

My husband and I both read (cover to cover) the How To Choose the Sex of Your Baby book. We really wanted a boy. We did everything to the "T". Needless to say, we now have 3 girls (and loving it). Good luck!

Hi, when I wanted to get preggie the 2nd time, we had a little girl, I did research on Storknet.com, and they had a couple of ways for a better chance of conceiving a boy or girl...it seems as tho the "boy" sperms swim slower then the "girl" sperms, and the boys like the chemical that is produced when you experience the big "O". Therefore...(no way to put this delicately).....when i got preggie with my son, hubby was behind me, ah...all the way in...and I was very stimulated. Of course this is only my experience, but my neighbor, and friend told me when we were ready for the 2nd baby, to come to her and she would explain how to get a boy, and it was along the same guide lines. Kinda a touchy subject, hope I helped and didn't offend anyone, but hey, we're all girls here, right??? Have fun!!!

I actually had a book on this subject - How to Plan the Sex of your Baby - or some title very similar to that, and first you have to know exactly when you ovulate - for several months I took my temperature, etc. Then, for a girl, you need to have sex about 4 days before you ovulate, which we did, and we had a girl! For the boy, it said to have sex on or one day before the day you ovulate. We tried that too for the second, but we had another girl, which we were still thrilled to have another girl. We stopped at 2. This was 13 years ago so there's probably more info on the subject now, on the internet! Back then, the internet barely existed so I couldn't get the info from that. Good luck!

How Choose the Sex of Your Baby is the title of the book I also read. My husband and I have two girls and two boys. I did not read the book until after my first two (one of each) children were born. My husband said we could have another baby if I " promised" it would be a boy. So, I read the book and told him that according to the book he would need to wear a condom for 6 months, then i could guarantee him a boy. Well, we decided that that would not be such a good idea, so we just went with it and I think we were lucky and got what we wanted. For our last baby, we had a girl and that was what we wanted, so....be happy and play the game...be thankful for a healthy baby no matter the gender.

Best of luck and have fun playing the game!

Starting with baby #1, we tried all the methods in the book How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby. We wanted a girl. Four boys later..... ha! So much for choosing. Be happy with whom you are blessed.

I've heard that if you have sex before you ovulate, it will be a girl (it worked for us, twice, not that we were trying for a girl.) If you have sex during or after ovulation, it will be a boy.
