I was wondering if anyone has internet service from Direct tv? I am switching my cable provider to Direct and was thinking about signing up for thier internet service but I didn't want to sign a year contract if it doesn't work well

What can I do next?

You know how when there's bad weather the direct tv shuts down? If you get internet service thru them, the internet will shut down in bad weather, too

Hey B., I recently signed up with the DirecTV and I went through the AT&T package deal and am VERY HAPPY. We have unlimited long distance, all the caller ID things on the phone, High Speed internet (DSL modem) and the TV all bundled and I'm very happy. It took me a long time to look and decide, but I am happy with this choice. We're going on month 4 now and I have no complaints, so I think you'll be happy too. As for the DirectTV part of it, it is a 12 month contract though. I found it to be cheapest and you get MORE FOR YOUR MONEY when you bundle it through AT&T. I almost did it seperate, but it was DirecTV that suggested I call AT&T and see for myself that it's a better deal to bundle.

Good luck. :)

I had a very bad experience with Direct t.v. They overcharged, was very hard to speak to anyone who could help and I found the controls they provided hard to use. They also pursued a friend who had a dispute with them and readily made a negative remark on her credit and would never work with her. I would choose any other service besides Direct tv. Never had a problem with knology or charter or any other service except Direct tv. They had a serious campaign to win customers using celebrities and made big promises.

We bundled everything through AT&T. They have different speeds that you can sign up for. We are pleased with ours. We used to have Charter and don't notice a difference.

Direct TV net is noticably slower than cable. so if you do switch your internet you will notice a slow in your speed and an increased number of dropped downloads. My inlaws have it and we can notice a big differance between our place and theirs.

Hi,
We have it & we've been happy with it. It's the best internet service we've had so far. I'm not sure if different areas have different levels of service. We live in Richmond Hill, & it's been good for us. There were some problems about a year and a half ago, but they worked them out.
Good luck!

We have Directv and love it but chose to use internet through the phone because my husband is really into downloading music. At the time we were making our decision, the cost was better to go the other way and we were in an area that always lost the signal due to high winds or bad weather. Don't have that problem now but still use bellsouth/at&t for internet.
