Where would you go and what would you do? Just curious. Thanks ladies.
This question deserves a flower! I would drive to Galveston get some takeout and fruit --then just veg inside all night and walk the beach in the morning.
Oh, this sounds nice! I would go to a beautiful cabin with a view of a river. I'd have a good book and my favorite foods (including chocolate covered strawberries) and enjoy the beauty and soaking in that hot tub. Wish I could go!!
I would spend the day with my girlfriends at the spa to get fabulous and the night dancing salsa and bachata at my fave dance club!
I would give the ticket to the fam and stay home by myself! Time alone in my own home never happens and is a luxury.
I know exactly what I'd do. I'd find a nice little hotel or B&B and get a room with a jacuzzi. I'd pack up my stuff and head out. I'd go to grocery nearby that has the best produce, cheese and bread selections. I'd buy a little picnic of all my favorites: Italian bread with garlic cloves baked in, mozzerella, salami, avocadoes, basil, roma tomatoes, some good grapes, and an excellent bottle of wine.
Once at the hotel, I'd run a bath, grab my book, break out all the goodies, and soak, eat and read until I'm all pruny and wrinkly. Then I'll climb in bed and read until I fall asleep. In the morning, I'll get up and take myself to breakfast at Cracker Barrel...and I'll read my book at the table while sipping coffee.
I may or may not go shopping or go to a movie alone during this trip. :-)
ETA: But...I'd rather bring my fiancee with me...:-)
I wouldnt want to spend much of my time travelling, so, I'd probably drive an hour or so and find a beautiful hotel near the water.
I'd check in, take a long time getting ready. Go to the hotel bar for a drink, then head out to a movie by myself. Come back and sit in the hottub till I'm properly relaxed. Back to the room for a hot shower, then sleeeeeeeeeep and sleeeep some more with the curtains pulled.
Then, I'd get up, take my time reading the paper and rinking coffee in tthe peace and quiet. Then go explore the area. See if I could find mom and pop stores, restaraunts, book stores, a coffee shop. Any local flavor.

I did this a few years ago. I wasn't by myself, but a trip to see my brother all by myself for three days was such a treat. We had lots of red wine, cheese and bread, and watched some of our favorite black and white movies in his apartment. We don't get to see each other that often, so I definetly know what I would do ..
Interesting question. But when I want to be alone and go someplace by myself, I curl up on my own bed with a good book and use my imagination. I can go anywhere I can imagine.
I would much rather GO someplace with my wife, than by myself.

I would check into a hotel that had jacuzzi tubs with a stack of good books. I would order a pizza with toppings I like and soda I like.

One day and night?
Definitely the Inn at Buttermilk Falls... a beautiful resort/spa nestled along the Hudson River and is literally 15 minutes from my house so no wasted time travelling. 5 star restaurant, spa with all the "bells and whistles" and QUIET. This included a gift card for spa treatments too, right?

Christy said it pretty well...I may want a palm tree or two nearby, or maybe a back drop of some mountains...and I love having my husband around, so I would pack him too! (but no kids once in awhile is always nice!)

Can i trade it for a maid for a day ticket? Spent saturday by myself relaxed, caught up on TV and cleaned my house then by the end of they day i missed my family.
My husband gave me a free weekend about a month ago and I went to visit my cousin and aunt ( they live about 5 hrs away). I hadn't seen them in almost a year.
It was a great weekend!
Then the next weekend, I sent him back home to see his family and friends.
I think a hotel or B&B with a Jacuzzi and noise free. I would like to go all alone since lately I crave time just for me and not having to please anyone but me.
Staying home by myself would also be great, I have so many projects that can’t be done with the kids around.
Whatever you choose, enjoy it!
I'd go find some manatees or go to Montreal or visit Dublin and the Book of Kells (that I did not get to see due to the crazy schedule DH had us on and the kids who didn't get up early). I'd take a trip for ME.
I got lucky a couple years ago when hubby gave me a ticket to anywhere.
I flew to South Beach in Miami for 3 nights and 4 days. I LOVED it and came back all refreshed and ready to go.
Someplace...(anyplace!!) ....that I could have no noise. No neighbors music through the walls, no kids shouting in the streets, no cars driving by, no airplanes flying overhead, just peace and quiet and a good book.
Honestly, I wouldn't accept it. I have no interest in going off by myself for that long. Now, if you wanna give me a few hours, I might schedule it for when I'm getting some shopping or my nails done. Play a few games of Scrabble and get some sleep. Ooh, eat something gooooddd. Yep, that's about it. If I'm gonna be leaving town or doing something fun, I'll cheat and take my husband with me, but I'll need my baby there to give me kisses in the morning.
Right now? A quiet B&B in a woodsy setting, where I can sit on a porch and drink a bottle of wine. (Lots of those around here)

honestly, I would head to my Mom's. She's about 3 hours away & lives on the Mississippi River in a historic little village. I sleep thru the night peacefully ....every single time. :)
Or I would head to our lake house & boot out my Evil Stepmom....so I can have the house to myself & think memories of my Dad. :)
I would go to Atlantic City, check into a nice hotel (Caesar's Palace?) and walk on the boardwalk throughout the day...........then enjoy some shopping in the little mall attached to Caesar's Palace... Then- I'd treat myself to room service or boardwalk treats. Then- at night, I'd get a massage at one of those places on the boardwalk and my palm read for fun. Then- maybe a comedy show with a friend, etc...

Totally depends. If I wanted to get away by myself I'd go somewhere I knew how to get to, and could relax.
If I wanted to spend time with family, I'd go see my sister who lives in PA right now, but will be moving to SC in the near future.
I have a cousin in the mid west I'd like to see.
We talk all the time.
But O. day & night would be too short.
