My 2 yr. old girl is really into baby dolls right now. A doll stroller is great for that age too. She's also starting to really like Little People, blocks, puzzles, and dress up clothes. At this time of year, something for outside might be good too. So many possibilities...

Play-doh, coloring books, crayons, stickers, sidewalk chalk, board books, sand/water toys, bathtub toys, bubble bath, bath crayons, magna-doodle, peg puzzles, rain boots and an umbrella (my 2 1/2 year old's FAVORITE thing in the world!!) or anything from the Crayola color-wonder line is great for this age!

I second Bethany's answers. My 2 yo daughter loves her large magna doodle and her sand toys. She plays with those sand toys in the backyard, in the bathtub, the park AND the beach! Always go with the washable crayons and paints but those are of course a lot of fun too!!

Dress up clothes. I don't know any little girl that doesn't like to put on a dress, high heel shoes (plastic of course) and look at herself in the mirror. Dress up clothes are always a big hit. You can go high end from the Disney Store or go not so expensive and get a trunk of dresses, shoes and accessories from Toys R Us. My seven year old still likes to dress up, even though most of our stuff only fits her little sister now. If she has older brothers it would be really nice for her to have something that is just hers. The best part about that, is she won't have to say this is mine, the boys won't want it, so it will just end up being for only her and her friends. :)

Not sure if you are looking for party or gift ideas. Last year for my daughter's 2-year bday we did a backyard beach bash. We had wading pools, a fun sprinkler, beach balls, sandbox. Each child got to decorate a foam visor with stickers. And we had a barbaque - simple food- and ice cream cake. We invited four other families with children similar ages (my son is 17 months older). It was fun and easy. I think we are going to do the same thing again. We did small pails with sand toys in them as goodie bags. And we gave her a water table as her birthday present.

As others mentioned, art supplies, baby dolls, lego duplos, books, and puzzles are great for a two year old.

Also, I sell Discovery Toys, and have a couple of unique toys that you can't buy at a regular toy store that I know kids her age love.

One of my son's favorites is Roll & Play. It's like a first board game, where you roll a large ball/die, then choose a card and do the action on the card. He is turning 3 soon and still loves to play with it. Your daughter can play with you or with her brothers. http://www.discoverytoyslink.com/esuite/control/product?P...

He also loves the Place & Trace Puzzles. They can be used in so many different ways: you can trace the outline of each shape, or trace inside the tray once the shape has been removed. You can use them as cookie cutters with playdoh, and of course as a puzzle. Check it out here: http://www.discoverytoyslink.com/esuite/control/product?P...

You can view all my toys through my site. Happy birthday to your daughter!

How about a personalized book. I make about 30 different books that I personalized with the child's name and his friends/siblings names as part of the story. There are 2 different birthday books. Check out my website:

I just bought my 2-year old god-daughter the Fisher Price Baby Stroller (around $18) and a Fisher Price Baby Doll (around $8). Reports are that she loves that stroller. Fisher Price is always a great product!

I have been to a few 2 year old parties that have a Wiggle Worms instructor (from Old Town School of Folk Music) where everyone, even the parents, LOVE it!! Definitely worth a shot. If you need invitations you can check out www.thesweetestimpressions.com for some custom made ones!!

I think the wading pool is fun, too!

I have only a boy so I'm always unsure of girly gifts. For O. preschool party we bought a little craft kit at the toy store that made a little plaque with her name on it for her room. It was a hit.

A small stroller for a baby doll plus some accessories. I think Toys R'us has a small umbrellas stroller that is just her size for $10-15. Little girls love to push their babies around - even outside I have found out.

im not sure if this well help you but if she's anything like my daughter, toys would be a waste of money, try buying artsy stuff like water color books(target) maybe the wood puzzles which my daughter loves to do...oh and bubbles, every child loves bubbles, butterfly net for catching lighting bugs at night and a bug catcher container... let me tell you catching lighting bugs at night with my daughter is lots of fun and wears her out....and she loves to put her bugs she caught in the container to watch them light up. then before we go in the house we set them free. having two brothers will also be fun for them too to help their sister out..
kimberly,,, hope i helped you out.

Pretend food and dishes, a plastic tea set. My girls loved these at that age. Or a doll stroller or one of the little shopping carts. Dress up items are fun too, if they are easy enough for her to get on and off herself. Crayola Wonder makes some great no mess products. Bubble blowers, sidewalk chalk, a butterfly net are all good outdoor choices too. Have fun!

One of my kids favorite gifts when they were little was a personalized name stool. It is good to sit on, it will be her own, not her brothers and it is a puzzle of their name. They are available at Personal Creations.com. It is a little pricey, but definitely worth it as it will last for several years use.

I agree with Christina M.
At 2 years old, really big parties are more for the parents than the kids. 2 year olds get bored very easily. At this age I stuck to small home parties with family and MAYBE 1 or 2 friends if we were really close to their parents and they came over alot.
I would pick a theme they were interested in. Maybe a few small decorations, a cake that matched. I wouldn't worry about games to play at the party. If it's summer, play in the back yard or have a bbq. Let her pick her favorite dinner.
As far as toys, every kids is different. What is she interested in? Most 2 year olds love to make messes like finger paints and play dough or coloring. (most kids have plenty of toys) We got our daughter a water doodle so she could draw and we wouldn't have "mistakes" on the kitchen floor or carpet. She loved it. An art easle is also a good idea for this age.
