I Need Help Finding a Dr. in Gilbert

I would like some suggestions for a good Dr. here in Gilbert or the surrounding area. We are currently without insurance while we wait the required three months for enrollment, and was wondering if anyone knows where a low cost clinic is. My oldest son has severe asthma and allergies, and it seems like his colds always turn into something more. He's home sick now and I'm beginning to worry that he might need antibiotics, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your support, I'll start making calls. I really want a doctor that the kids will feel comfortable with. Elijah is feeling much better today and actually made it to school. His birthday is tomorrow so I'm really happy he's feeling better. Thanks again for all your suggestions.

While you are researching doctors, I would suggest taking your son to the Goodnight Pediatrics. They are open 5pm - 5am. I have been there a few times in the last couple of months and have received wonderful care for my older daughter who also has respiratory complications when she gets a cold. They are on Highley. Their web is www.goodnightpeds.com. The care is very efficient and excellent. They can run labs there, and we've gotten O2 treatments too.

My son sees Dr Mark Gentile. His office is located on Val Vista (major crossroads Val Vista and Williamsfield). He is excellent. I'm not sure of the cost for patients without insurance but they are a very reliable office. Hope this helps.

Hi,
I love my daughter's pediatrician, Dr Kendra Hall with East Valley Pediatrics on Val Vista and Baseline evpeds.com or call ###-###-####. I also would recommend my allergist if you are looking for one: Dr Brian Millhollon www.allergywise.com ###-###-####---he's the only doctor I've ever seen that literally spent over an hour with me my first visit, he's very thorough and really nice.
I don't know either of their policies or prices without insurance, but the nurses/receptionists at both are really nice so I'd give them a call.

Try Deseret Family Medicine on Greenfield and the US 60. I did not have insurance and I went there. I paid $75 for an appointment and also got an antibiotic for FREE! It was a sample, but nonetheless it was FREE! Anyhow, I hope your son feels better and that you don't have to go to the DR.

Hi S.,

There is a group in Gilbert called Mesa Pediatrics. (MPPA) They are a very qualified group of pediatricians. I adore Dr Robin Laks in that group. I'm not sure if she is accepting new patients -- it's worth asking. I currently use the Tempe office of MPPA and see Dr Joe Piacentine. He is also an excellent physician and he does see new patients.

Good Luck!

I live in Gilbert and my husband is a physician who specialized in pediatrics. He is a Naturopathic Medical Doctor--which basically means he won't give your child a pill to fix the asthma and allergies--he will get to the bottom of why he has them and fix that so that he doesn't have to deal with this any longer. Currently, he is practicing off 101 and Bell Road. It's quite a drive, but worth it. I think he charges $125 an hour--but you could verify that if you call. If you are interested, the phone number to his office is ###-###-####. His name is Dr. Joel Morgan. Soon, he may be in this area, but for now, everyone drives over to see him. Just a thought.

Hi there! We go to Mesa Pediatrics Group. My twins doc is Dr James Smith. We really like him! The cool thing about this practice is that there are several offices that you can go to if Dr Smith is full. So far all are good. We did not care for one of the nurse practioners at the San Tan, very young and not very caring. But everyone else is great at the Guadalupe office.
Here is the number and address:
2550 E Guadalupe Rd
#115
Gilbert, AZ 85234

Good Luck!

Hi S.,

What are your cross roads? I know of a pediatric facility on Greenfield & Guadalupe. If you live further south, I can ask my friend who she uses.

Also, I am a Holistic Health Counselor and am happy to help you with your son's asthma and allergies. I grew up with both and know what if feels like. However, I've been allergy and asthma-free for 6 years now, due to using alternative care versus taking meds. Meds just keep the person medicated and don't solve the problem. Holistic Health Care seeks to identify the real problem and and works at the core versus just the symptoms.

I'd love to talk with you! Please call me at ###-###-####.

We take our kids to Mesa Pediatrics and they are wonderful. There have been times when we haven't had insurance waiting for open enrollment or my husband changing jobs, and the one good thing I can say about Mesa Pediatrics is that if you tell them you have no insurance at the moment and explain the situation, they will more than likely give you a discounted visit and even try to give you samples of the meds if your child needs any. They are a great group! They have 3 offices and every office is GREAT! I love all the doctors, nurses, medical assistants, nurse practitioners and front office staff, they are all very friendly and helpful. You can go to their website at www.mesapeds.com to see whick location works best for you and go from there. I hope this helps and I hope your son feels better soon.

Try Dr. Jean Wolfe on Gilbert Road between Guadalupe and Elliott. It isn't a clinic, but they give a good discount for cash paying clients.
