Yesterday my son vomited in the car, all over himself and his carseat. Needless to say, it stinks. The manual says not to wash in the washing machine, so I hand washed it the best that I could. I also used Febreeze and Lysol on the cover. I left the car window open over night to hopefully air out some of the odor, but to no avail. Do you know how I can get the vomit smell out of the carseat cover? Or does anyone know if a new cover can be purchased for the Britax Marathon carseat? Thanks for any suggestions.

Covers can be purchased but I would just soak/handwash your cover and air dry. I have done that to mine a couple of times. The washing machine will pull the hooks off that holds the cover to the seat. I did that with a previous seat.
I bought a replacement cover for the one I wrecked off of ebay.
I love stuff called "Kids and Pets". I've seen it at local stores like Meier and Target. It's an enzymatic cleaner and GREAT at getting out vomit, poop, etc. You should use it first for it to be most effective. It's also great on carpet.
I also agree that you can wash the cover in the machine. I've done it without issues.
I have a Marathon and I have put the cover in the washer many times. Just wash on cold gentle and air dry. Also, I have found vinegar to be the best thing to get funky smells out of clothes.
Hi there. We had to wash our Chicco Keyfit cover for the same reason. Borax worked really well at eliminating the odor. We also let the cover air dry vs putting it in the dryer.
I had a Britax Roundabout, and washed the cover more than once in the washing machine without any problems. (I did not put it in the dryer.)
White vinegar is the best treatment for odors I know of. You can add a cup to the wash load, or just add some to your water when you hand wash. You will need to wash again to get out the vinegar smell, though. Oxyclean is also pretty good with any odors caused by biological sources (urine, vomit.)
Also, make sure you go over the plastic well with soapy vinegar water - there may be stuff in the crevices of the seat.
