Fake Plant

Hey Mamas,
I have a large fake plant. Is there an easier, quicker way to clean it other than wiping each individual leaf? Doing so will take more time than I'd care to spend but if that's the only way to do it then I will. It's in a basket that has foam on the bottom and Spanish moss covering it. I'm worried about using a hose because I don't want water to get trapped in there somehow and cause mold. I prefer real plants and have quite a few, but this fake one really suits the area I have it in so I'd like to keep it. What do you think?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I was about to wrap the base in some form of plastic/press and seal when I realized the plant was actually 3 bunches stuck into one basket. They were glued into the foam, but not very well. Pulled them all out, hosed 'em down, left them in the sun to dry. Now it looks green again instead of greenish grey! Lol Thanks everyone!

Wrap Saran Wrap or the Glad Cling Wrap around the base and take it outside and hose it off.

I hated that too. I used to wipe each leaf until w/a wet wipe I got tired of it.

How about taking it into garage & using one of those air in can things on
it you use for your keyboard in the office. I forget what it's called (it's
air in a can) and can buy it at any office supply store.

we either wrap it in the Glad Cling Wrap or a trash bag and take it outside and hose it off and let it dry out there as well...we keep the base closed until it's dry!

I had a fake plant one time too. Pain in the keester to keep clean. I tried dusting it with a feather duster, but all it did was shuffle the dust around and when it settled, it all landed right back on the leaves. oye...lol I had to take a wet cloth and just wipe all the leaves.

I do exactly what Cheryl does....cover it with plastic and hose it off. Keep it covered until it's dry.

You might want to try the canned air used to clean out computers and other electronics.

I would say put it in the shower but you will have to take it out of the foam to do so.
