I used them just fine with my pregnancies. I used them right around the time my period would start. If you think you are pregnant use one.
How accurate are they? Do you wait until after you have missed your period to take one with the dollar store kind. I just hate spending so much money on pregnancy tests!

I was about a week late, so I went to the dollar store, got a test and it came back positive. Needless to say, I have a 14 month old baby boy to prove it! :)
Dollar store pregnancy tests are know to be super very sensitive, as sensitive as they come. That being said, when you can test all depends on when you ovulated, when implantation occured and how much Hcg is in your system. Getting the most sensitive test is always going to give you an accurate result sooner (and at a dollar a test, you can test everyday!!), but when it will show a pregnancy all depends on the hormone. Some people can test before their period, some after...
I've read a few articles about this. YES--they DO work.
I used to work at a dollar store distrbution warehouse and that was THE most stolen item by both male and female employees because it was so accurate.
They worked for me thru 2 pregnancys... Plus what I liked about them - I was CRAZY to know earlier than the test should tell me - so it wasn't a big deal I used them in excess until I was sure...
Yep! That's all I'll use.
I got a positive 3 days before my period was due. Worked for me!!
Used them with my 2 pregnancies and they were right both times! Good luck!
I used them with my last 2 pregnancies and they have always worked. This last time i used it 2 days before i was supose to get my period and it said i was pregnant. Good luck!
They do work I found out when I was 5 weeks pregnant and I'm 39 weeks now!
I didn't believe it at first so I quickly went to CVS and bought the digital one and it only confirmed it 2 more times for me.
Good luck
Yep, they work! I have used them to get both positive and negative results with the same accuracy as regular tests. I was 1 and 2 days late when I got the positives though so they may not do as well testing before your period is due.
i think all pregnancy tests are not 100% sure if it's right. I always go with my gyno when i have doubts. They tell me the results right then and there. But coming from the pregnancy tests, I think their all the same.
I would not trust a pregnancy test from the dollar store. They seem kind of junky to me. I used the EPT test that came with 2. I used both on all 3 of my pregnancies ( one ending in a miscarriage). One on one day and the other the next day just to make sure I didn't screw it up! LOL! If you have a neg test then you still have the other one for another time.
I used them before and they are accurate! if you are 5-6 wks prego, it will detect it. make sure to use your morning urine, just to be on the safe side--more concentrated with HCG. Best wishes!

I tested at 10 days past ovulation while pregnant with my son and got a positive. So 4 days before I got my period. It was a light positive but funny thing was a day after my period should have been there it was just as light. It stayed the same color the entire time. I tested daily! I mean they are only a dollar and there is nothing like that line when you've been trying to get pregnant. The dye isn't all that dark but just remember with a pregnancy test a line is a line is a line and a line 99.9% of the time means you are currently pregnant. BUT keep in mind if you check before your period is due you are far more likely to catch a a chemical pregnancy and most think it hurts as bad as a miscarriage even if it only existed for a short period of time.
But there is this great site peeonastick.com. It shows what HCG levels are required for a positive on most brands, and most are between 25 and 50. Dollar store tests are no different.
I used one a few days before my period was due, and it gave my a false negative. Then I tried again about a week later and it was positive. So I would say, yes, they are accurate as long as you wait for your missed period.
they worked a week before i was due for my period. :) good luck!!!!!
I have used them in the past and found that it was more accurate than the expensive ones.
I used it before AF was due and got my positive.
Good luck!
As accurate as any, but you do have to wait til you're late.
I would not trust a pregnancy test from the Dollar Store...they are probably out of date or manufactured outside the US where they are not held to as high a standard as the ones here.
If you are trying to get pregnant...and taking the pregnancy tests frequently to see if you have been successful...try waiting until you have missed your 2nd period...then you won't be having so many negative tests.
If you are trying to KEEP from becoming pregnant...invest in some reliable birth control :-)
