Just wondering if anybody else has very light periods? My are regular but have been getting lighter and lighter as the months go on should I be worried or just glad that I have light periods?? I just stopped my period and only bleed for 1 1/2 days then it was that mucus type stuff when you ovulate for two days. Thank you for you time!!

What can I do next?

I have light periods as well! Before I had my daughter, they were terrible. But after I had her, they are so much better! Very light...some months it's almost hard to tell I have one. But, my doctor says everything is fine, so I am just thankful to have light ones now!

S.-
I am the same way and thought it was odd. Are you on birth control pills because that can make a difference? I talked to my obgyn's nurse and asked her if I should be concerned that my periods are light (i maybe bleed for a day or two, but even then it's VERY light, I can get by on a mini pad). The nurse said that it's okay and that it means my pill is working. Unless you are having bad cramping or any other pain out of the ordinary, I think it's okay. But you could talk to your doctor just to be sure since I don't know all the factors in your situation. Hope this helps!

hey S.! i think you should just be glad...at least that's what my friends always tell me. before i had my son (now 5) my periods were about 3-4 days long...but i was on the pill so it lasted until i got back on the "pill" and off the sugar pills. now that i've had him...my periods are literally 1-2 days and not heavy at all. i rarely bleed at night and during the day i just use a regular tampon. it's so nice, but so weird at the same time. my dr says nothing is wrong and i should feel lucky. i am not on any birth control either, so i just count my blessings!! :)

I say be greatful. Unlike me where for a few days, I have to be in the bathroom hourly. Not sure of your age, but it likely can be "age related". Late 30's you often start to see changes.

I have always had light periods (2 days). I normally take a birth control pill and I think that is what makes it lighter. It has never affected my ability to get pregnant. I'm pregnant for the 3rd time right now and all three times I got prego the first month I tried. Are you more active than the average person (work out, play sports, etc)? Are you petite? I know that can affect your period.

It's probably fine, but definitely something to ask your doctor about when you're in for your yearly well-woman check-up next time.

I'm not on birth control and have always had light periods (2- 3 days) except when I was on birth control for a few months after our son was born, then my periods were irregular and long, and so when I went off birth control, they returned back to the normal 2-3 days.
