Co-sleeper or Pack-n-Play

Congratulations on your twins. Mine are now 4. We actually used a port-a-crib because it held more weight. Up to 50 pounds. This is what the people recommended at Babies R Us. I beleive the brand was Cosco. It folds up (sideways) nicly and stores easily, but would not be good to travel with. I liked it because you can adjust the mattress to be higher than the pack-n-plays so you don't have to bend over so much to pick them up. The bassinet on most pack-n-plays only hold up to 15 pounds...not enough if you have both of them sleeping in it. My two slept in this together in our room until about 2 months and then we put them together in one crib until they were about 4 months old. Then they started moving around too much and waking each other up, so it was time for their own cribs. I would recommend having two pack-n-plays though instead of the one large one for twins. You would only be able to use it for a short time. I started out with just one and ended up going and buying another. It is great to keep them together, but they will get to the point where it isn't possible. Ours have always shared a room, but that became difficult during naptime as they got older, so we would set up the pack-n-play in our room for one. Good luck!!!

Hi I have 2 year old twins and when they were tiny babies we just put them in a regular sized Graco pack-n-play. My babies were 7 pounds 2 ounces and 6 pounds 8 ounces when they were born and they fit perfectly. Twins are so used to being together that they enjoyed the fact that they could be close to each other while sleeping. We moved them to a crib that they shared after about 6 months. Then we put them in their own cribs after they were a year old. I hope this helps. I know that having twins has changed our lives. My four year old is very happy to have his babies. We used the double co-sleeper for the first 2 months and then moved on to separate pak n plays when traveling. We also moved them into separate cribs at 3 months old, and they did wonderful. :) I really think they enjoyed their very own space. I have one boy and one girl so that might make a difference too! We too used the large play yard w/ extensions for playtime and mom cooking and cleaning time...it worked out great! :) Good luck and congratulations!

Congratulations! We bought the Arm's Reach Original Co-Sleeper for our twins, who were born in early A.. I have nothing to compare it to, but we're happy with it. Good luck!

I have 9 yo twins and they slept side by side in a pack n play on the top. We had them sleep the shorter way (head on one side and feet on the other side, not the long way) because it gave them more room. This worked great until they were both moving arms more. Then we transitioned them into their cribs around 14-15 weeks.

They will keep you busy. Need anymore twin advice please don't hesitate to ask.

Depends how big they end up being, but with my twins that came home from the hospital at 4.5 lbs a piece, I slept them in a good old regular pack-n-play. They would nap in that down stairs so I could hear them at all times and then at night they slept in one crib together until they were 8 months old. (they weighed about 12 lbs at that point) I was told that being that they were 10 weeks premature and my son had breathing issues, that them sleeping together would help him to "remember to breathe". At 8 months old, that was when my son (I have boy and girl twins) started "attacking" my innocent daughter in the middle of the night (typical male) I then moved them into their own cribs in their own rooms as suggested by my pediatrician!! His thought were that twins need their own space to realize their own identities at a young age. Anyhow the regular pack-n-play worked great for us!!

Good luck! My twins are now three and a half and I have a 14 month old as well!!! The first six months with the thrird was tough, but it is now getting much easier!
