Bedding-Custom Or Store-bought

We just purchased a new bedroom suite, and I need new bedding. I don't want to pay a fortune for custom bedding, but haven't seen anything I like at the typical places like Macy's, Bed Bath Beyond, etc. Does anyone know someone in the Katy area that makes bedding at a reasonable price? Do you know any great on-line stores to order nice bedding? Thank you!

What can I do next?

I'm a big fan of custom bedding but I've looked high and low and it's expensive. Like you, I have never had luck at the mall or BBB. Surprisingly, I have seen a few decent sets at Kohls but obviously, it's not high end.

Do you know a seamstress? You could pick out your own fabrics for the spread, pillows and skirt and have it made.

We got our duvet cover at Restoration Hardware. Go to their website. They have beautiful bedding. Not sure what price range you are in. I think their items are classic and beautiful.

OOh--and for sheets. BBB has Wamsutta Sateen 400 count. Like sleeping in heaven, loooove them.

You could go with a simple solid spread (as mentioned, Garnet Hill has classic, timeless pieces), jazz it up with a folded quilt folded at the foot of the bed and then splurge on some euro shams and decorative pillows.

Lastly, I just order my daughters quilt on ebay. I got an awesome deal on a new set that rivals any pottery barn quilts I have seen for a fraction of the price. Spend some time looking there, esp. for discontinued sets.

Garden Ridge Pottery has some fab sets! Some of the better ones come with decorator pillows, too!

I like KMart online, even though we don't have the stores around here anymore, you can still order online and they'll ship. Great shipping prices too. Or try Linens N Things online, again no stores here anymore, but their website is still up and running. I also like eBay and Amazon. There aren't any stores that I know of who do custom work.

Have you tried Garnet Hill? www.garnethill.com
They have fun stuff- not necessarily cheap but not custom prices either.
or Pottery barn (online or in store)
or www.TheCompanyStore.com
Company Store and Garnet Hill both have quality, soft sheets w/ higher thread counts. I can't stand scratchy sheets!! Good luck.
